We are so glad we chose Alex as our tour guide in Cusco. He is fantastic! He made us feel safe all the time and took us to wonderful places in Cusco. Him and his driver were amazing and they did the best to make sure we had an unforgettable trip.
We booked three days with him and did the city tour, sacred valley & maras and moray.
He is very knowledgable and passionate about Peruvian culture. I can’t recommend him enough!

Alex was waiting at the airport with a smile when we arrived. After a long night, his welcoming face at 6:15am, was wonderful. Going forward, he was our guide and our friend and everything in between. Alex is a wealth of knowledge and experience. When you're a foreigner and have so much hope/anticipation attached to your trip, what makes the most difference is personality and character. Humor, warmth, kindness and a genuine love of Peru and working with tourists is what makes him stand out. Everyday was a learning experience, a fun experience. Alex is an encyclopedia of flora, fauna, history and geography.
Scenic Peru had things masterfully arranged. We ate 2-3 course meals prepared by friendly, highly skilled chefs and had snackbags for hiking. Tents and thermorests were waiting at each campsite, tea greeted us each morning in our tents. Our driver had a clean, reliable van at every occasion and kept us safe on roads that are challenging, in traffic that is diverse! Our trek involved mules and horses, which were well taken care of by horsemen and never overloaded.
My memories of this trip to Peru are all great! We laughed, learned and took thousands of photos camping/hiking, exploring ruins, trying new foods, shopping at markets and travel by van, train and foot. Scenic Peru and Alex exceeded expectations and I would never travel with anyone else. I know that I will return to Peru again...and again. Peru and it's people have earned a special place in my heart.

Our trip couldn't have been better! Alex had everything planned down to the finest detail. Tickets and entrance fees to everything were included. I wouldn't have known where to start! He is also a wealth of knowledge about history & flora and fauna of the region.
We did the Salkantay Trail, which is not an easy hike! I felt so supported throughout the whole thing.
Oh, and the food! All the meals were amazing! Being woken up in our tents with hot tea/coffee in the morning was awesome, too! I felt spoiled and relaxed.
I would 100% book another tour with Alex if I can get down that way again.
We did the Salkantay Trail, which is not an easy hike! I felt so supported throughout the whole thing.
Oh, and the food! All the meals were amazing! Being woken up in our tents with hot tea/coffee in the morning was awesome, too! I felt spoiled and relaxed.
I would 100% book another tour with Alex if I can get down that way again.

Wow, where to start.....
Okay firstly our guide Alex is unflappable. Behind his calm,reliable, always on time exterior is this guy who's on top of his game. Seriously, think about the logistics that go into hotels, transport, porters, food, etc. etc.
Alex made our trip beyond memorable. Also his patience with me was so kind. I'm three months post knee surgery and was so slow on the descent.
The trip...we did the 5 day, 4 night trek from Ollantaytambo to Machu Pichu. Spectacular! At the same time humbling when porters trot past you going twice as fast as you with 80lb packs on there backs. Lol.
I'd do this again in a flash. We may even drag the kids along next time. I've done other 'adventure' tours but this is one of the best if not the best. Nah, it was the best :)
Highly recommended.

We just returned from our trip to Peru. What an amazing experience! Alex and his team were fantastic. Every detail was taken care of, before and after our hike. The hike itself was stunning :) we couldn’t have done it without Alex. The support was awesome, the tents and other equipment was great, and the food was unbelievably good. I’d highly recommend the Scenic Peru group to anyone traveling to Cusco and to anyone wanting to travel the Inca trail or visit Machu Pichu. I’d do it again if I could!

We had a fabulous time on the Inca trail thanks to Alex and his team. Alex has a great laid back style while attending to all of the details of the trip. He has a wealth of knowledge about Inca history, the Inca ruins and the beautiful environment. I was surprised by the diversity of plant life along the trail. Alex knew a ton about the various plants and bird life. I highly recommend his guide service.

Can't say enough about our time with Alex. He is extremely knowledgeable about all the history as well as the fauna and flora of the places we visited. Cusco and Machu Picchu would not have been the same without him. He took excellent care of our needs and desires making for a wonderful travel experience. A great time was had by all!

We had a wonderful trip with Alex and his crew. He had great knowledge of the trail, the historic sites, the flora, fauna, and birds. The food was amazing and everyone was so nice! I highly recommend his exceptional service.

We took a family trip to Peru (parents and 7 year old). Scenic Peru (Alex Vereau) built us an itinerary for the Cusco region (Sacred Valley, Machu Picchu) and also a separate itinerary for the Amazon rainforest. The experience was fantastic! Alex took us to many small towns to different shops and gave us restaurant recommendations. Highly recommended!

Alex arranged everything for us and each hotel and guide we have is just great. They know so much about the place and it's like a history lesson in each location. We went to Lima, Cusco, Amazon, Machu Picchu and Puno. Wish we have more time to do more things. The pick up at the airport and from the hotel is always on time. The arranged lunch is good too, full of local flavors. Will definitely recommend Scenic Peru.
