I would do the Inca Trail Experience again and recommend to EVERYONE in a heartbeat!
I booked this trip as Machu Picchu has been top of my bucket list and I’ve always wanted to explore Peru. I think I explored more of Peru than 99% of tourists and had the most incredible experiences every step of the way. The phrase “its about the destination not the journey” was proven absolutely true, I had so much fun and made amazing memories along the way so that there was never a wasted moment! I especially was grateful for Abel’s expert knowledge, passion, attitude and rapport with the locals everywhere we went. Everyone in our group got along with and appreciated Abel, he was always making every step of the way smooth and effortless! He also recommended amazing restaurants and experiences at certain times which was truly valuable and you just don’t get when you’re travelling on your own or without someone experienced. The tour was expertly planned and I’m honestly a bit sad that people who travel without Abel will not have as much fun as I did!

Fantastic experience with Sparrow Explorer Travel for my trip to the Amazon Rainforest. The tour was so well organised, with airport pick up and drop off as well as included meals. The lodge, Corto Maltes, provided a lovely stay. Clean rooms and bathrooms, comfortable bed with mosquito-net, pool, boutique, massage centre and two bars with lovely cocktails. The food was insanely good and the staff were so friendly and welcoming. The activities within the jungle were a once in a lifetime experience - bird watching, jungle walks, boat rides. We saw monkeys, otters, plenty of birds and even a turtle. Special shout out to the manager of the lodge, Jose, who made everything run smoothly and to my tour guide, Franklin, who was incredibly knowledgeable and made the tour one to remember. Highly recommend Sparrow Explorer Travel for the best Amazon experience you’ll ever have :)

What can I say! What a trip(Summer 2022)! Thank you for a memorable experience in Peru Sparrow Explorer. It was a magical way to end the summer. This was the perfect trip and company to introduce traveling again. Traveling with Sparrow Explorers ensured a seamless, action-packed and enjoyable trip discovering as much of Peru as possible. Every vehicle or guide carries an oxygen tank or has a quick remedy in case someone feels ill from the altitude. Everyday is well planned with an itinerary. It’s fantastic. All you have to do is get up and go! Uncovering Peru with the group creates camaraderie and life long friendships. I arrived alone and left with plenty friends. Epic! Abel our guide was a most gracious host. He is an extremely reliable guide and this company allows you to wander and savor everything Peru has to offer because Abel know it all. We left nothing unseen :) it was a phenomenal trip. I’d go back again just to hang out with Abel again <3

You’ll have the absolute time of your life with Abel as your tour guide. He’s incredibly knowledgeable, with years and years of experience under his belt, and genuinely knows Peru inside and out. He truly worked around the clock to make sure we were all taken care of and having a great time - you could text him in the middle of the night and he’d respond. As a solo female from Australia who does not speak a word of Spanish, I could not have felt safer. He’s also very accomodating if you have something specific you wanted to do or see - give him a heads up and he’ll make it happen. It was a sensational trip and would do the two days of flying to South America all over again just for Abel - he’s worth his weight in gold!

I would highly recommend traveling with Sparrow Explorer. Abel was the most amazing tour guide. As a Peruvian himself, Abel's passion for his homeland really shows when he is speaking to you. With a background in archelogy, he has such an in-depth knowledge of Peru's history and archeological sites.
The itinerary Abel had planned for us was just perfect. Each place we visited was incredible. From Colca Canyon, to a homestay on Lake Titicaca, the mind blowing views of Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu and then onto the Jungle in Amazonia, the trip had something for everyone to enjoy. I didn't realize how much Peru had to offer until I was there seeing it for myself.
Going through the high altitudes of Peru on different days gave our bodies sufficient time to adjust before hiking Rainbow Mountain, the highest point of our trip. And for those that struggled at times, myself included, Abel was there with his "magic potion" and home remedies to help us with the altitude sickness.
As a solo female traveler, with very little Spanish vocabulary, it can be quite daunting to be in a foreign country by yourself, but never did I feel unsafe in the duration of this tour.
I have been on a few group tours over the years and can honestly say that Abel has been, by far, the best tour guide I have encountered.
He quickly became a friend to all on our tour, and to commemorate our time with him, some of us even got tattoos for us to remember him by.
He went above and beyond for us which made the trip that much more special...mucho special!
If I could do it all again, I definitely would!

Travelling through Peru with Abel as a guide was an experience of a lifetime! If I could have spent longer I would have. Everywhere we travelled was more unbelievable than the next. The scenery, historical sites, accommodation & food were all top class, only to be made better with Abel’s knowledge of his home country, his passion for his job exceeds any other tour/tour guide I’ve experienced with other companies.
The itinerary Abel had planned for us was perfect for the time we had. Taking us through different altitudes on different days, and helping those of us who were feeling the effects of it reassured each of us that Abel could help us with anything when we were there, which as a solo female traveller is what you need when so far from home. As well as safety, Abel quickly became a great friend to all of us on the tour, and we appreciated him so much for working round the clock to make sure we were having the best time!
I had been planning my trip to Peru for a few years, and if I was to do it all again I would definitely be booking on with Abel again.

We had a full day and a half tours with Abel. He has a very likable personality and pairs that with professionalism and tremendous knowledge of the Inca ruins, history and culture. Our first stop was Sacred Valley and all around it. The other half day tour was Cusco. Abel picked us up in our hotel on time with a tour van that was nearly new, clean and with a professional driver!
On our way to sacred valley Abel was telling us many facts about Peru and Cusco. He wowed us with stories of the ancient and powerful Incas. At times we were at the edge of our seat awaiting the next story. We were provided water and soft drinks. And taken to a delicious local restaurant for Peru’s famous ceviche and other dishes. In all we learned so much information about the history and culture of Peru that we would could have never learned for ourselves even with the help of the all mighty Google. We would recommend this company for tours in South America for our friends, loved ones, and you!!!

Abel, our guide was amazing! He was patient with our group at all times and was always so quick to find a fix for any problem we might encounter. I definitely recommend this agency as they were able to offer a great mix of not just the tourist spots but also the cultural and local spots that a tourist might miss. 10/10 recommended!

I am so thankful to Abel for my month long trip to Peru. He made me feel so safe and welcome from day one. Abel will always go above and beyond for every step of your journey. Even when we parted ways he still continued to plan some of my days and check in to make sure that I was doing well. He made my dreams come true on this trip. Abel was born in Cusco and is going to school for geology so his knowledge is extensive and truthful, which made him the only guide who could answer all of my questions to the extent and depth I desired. He is truly passionate about what he does and it shows. No matter what kind of trip you want to have whether that’s hiking, history, relaxation, or all of the above, Abel will make it happen. I am so grateful to have had him and Sparrow Explorer for this trip.

From the minute we arrived on tour, Abel was extremely welcoming and made us feel at ease. He was so enthusiastic and passionate throughout and his extensive knowledge of the country was extremely valuable when making recommendations, telling us about the archaeological sites and showing us areas of Peru that we never would have found if we were travelling on our own. We had an amazing time travelling with Abel and we can not recommend him enough.
