Enjoy the beautiful Andean landscape of Peru on board of a luxury and magical way to travel between Cusco and the Lake Titicaca. Travelling in the Andean Explorer is a unique experience, a route between mountains, clouds, snow-capped mountains and puna finishing in the majestic Lake Titicaca. Its coaches involve you in an environment extremely decorated with the elegant style of Pullman trains of the decade of 1920. Its tourist shows, the 5-fork lunch, dining cars, observatory-bar car outdoors, among other attractions.

What a fantastic day, although the journey takes 10 hours it seems to go by very quickly. The food is excellent and so is the entertainment. A fashion show, local musicians and a lesson in making Pisco Sour all make the journey fly by. There is a stop at the highest point of the journey and a stop when the... More

I rode the Andean Explorer from Puno to Cusco. From the time one sets foot in the Puno Train Station, the passenger is pampered. The staff serves the passenger coffee or tea at their seat in the waiting room. The train is magnificent, and with well appointed decor. The on board service is superb . The food is wonderful. The... Wow. The scenery on this trip between Puno and Cusco was incredible. The meals on board were very good and there was fabulous entertainment in the form of Peruvian musicians. It didn't seem like a ten hour journey!

I don't know how we found out about this train but I'm so glad we did. It is a wonderful way to cross from Puno to Cusco (or vice versa but I gather the Cusco to Puno route is much more expensive). Service was great, ambience and comfort were great and food was great. They do have musicians and a... More

I only heard about this through our travel agent recommendation - she told us it was a bit pricey but worth it and she was right! It added such a unique element to our trip. The carriages were comfortable and spacious. Staff were extremely friendly and efficient. The entertainment on board, stops and food service made 10 hours pass very... More

The staff was really nice, the lunch was really good. The company knows its customers: rich white europeans. The Track is beautiful and this sort of travelling is really chilled down. But the company also thinks that a brakefast in south america can cost 50 soles, which is honestly said an impudence. all the prices of things that are not... More

If this isn't on your 'bucket list' it should be. Everyone visiting Peru should make this train journey part of their itinerary (unbeatable value for money). The service and food were exemplary and the onboard entertainment by the Peruvian dancers and musicians whilst travelling through the breathtaking Andean countryside is something we will never forget.

10 hour ride in a vintage diesel. Well appointed. Lots of wood and brass. Elegant old style train. Excellent service. Good food, nice seating. There is a general car for seating with Queen Ann chairs and a formal table setting. Comfortable bar car. Very spacious and open observation car at the end. Absolutely worth doing. The train , the views... More
