It was a fantastic trek. Great landscapes, views and peruvian people! The Colca trek 2 days-1 night was simply amazing. Our guide Rafael was passionate about his job and we learned so much from him about Colca, Arequipa and Peru (He was also a good storyteller!). If you decide to book this tour we highly recommend you request him as your guide.

I'm so grateful I booked my Colca trek 2D/1N with Oasis Palmeras. While the trek was challeging it was made easier by our guide. Rafael was extremely knowledgeable not only about the Colca but also about Peru. You can tell he loves what he does. I'd highly recommend this tour company to others!

4.5 stars. What at an amazing trip my wife and I had in Colca! We booked 2 days before in arequipa centre with kerin in the oasis palmeras shop. Chose the 2D/1N package. 200 soles per person including transport to the canyon, stopping off at the condor cross, a light breakfast Day 1, guided hike, beautiful lunch in the valley, private room with bathroom in the oasis and return travel. Entrance to the canyon is an additional 70 soles for a ticket and 15 if you wish to visit the hot springs on day 2 We had a lovely guide called Elvis who spoke perfect English. Luckily we were the only two booked on the 2 day tour so it was just the 3 of us. 3 am hotel pick up in a newish mercedes sprinter minibus. We slept for 2 hours. When waking up- the views of the mountain roads were incredible! We had a very basic bread cheese jam and tea breakfast and then stopped 15 minutes at condor cross. We then descended to cabanaconda? Where the guide suggested leaving any heavy items behind. It doesnt get too cold in the canyon so all you really need is a max 30L day pack with water snacks snickers oreos breakfast bars cap suncream change of clothes for day 2. The less weight the better. You then start the hike and its a beautiful but very steep in places down hill until you reach the bottom of the canyon. You have to be fit to do it. We stopped for lunch which was a beautiful hillside posada. We then descended down to the touristic oasis with swimming pools which its too cold to use in reality as you get there around 4/5 pm. Dinner was tasty at 7pm and the accomodation way better than i thought it would be- comfy bed memory foam pillows hot shower! Very clean! Only downside was there was music playing which I did complain to the guide about as it not only ruins the peace but after such a tough hike it adds to headache and doesnt let you rest! Especially if you need to be awake for 4 am the next day, they should at least switch it off by 8pm but no- it kept going till around 11. Minus 1 star for that! Day 2 you wake up, its dark. You start the hardest part. Ascending 3-4 hours a steep zig zag trail to the top. At the top you admire the view and then head for breakfast. At this point a ride home to arequipa would have been perfect. But the tour company has people on 1 day tours, so you join other people in a minibus and make stops (1 hour + at the hot springs and 1 hour at a lunch stop) despite finishing hiking at 8am - we didnt get back to arequipa till 5pm. This was really tough! And not at all ideal- as we were tired dirty and just wanted to sleep. I did however make use of the pools and they were lovely! In conclusion: a fantastic tour with elvis. Hes an absolutely lovely person, he kept us informed and entertained and stopped when we were tiring. He is an excellent guide and this company is reputable and reliable. On a side note I personally would not do the trail without a guide, theres been many earthquakes recently and there are many forks in the path. At one stage we left the trail and crossed a river because it was blocked due to boulders and the river.

+1
Incredible and largely profitable experience for this 3-day trek: we were a group of 7 friends, we paid 80 € per person, for the transport from Arequipa to Chivay, the Cabanaconde - Chivay trip, and the Chivay - Puno trip, to then go to Lake Titicaca. In addition to transport, both hostels were included, as well as meals for the day. The scenery is beautiful and well worth the effort. 2 hours of descent on the first day ro go to the Oasis of San Galle, 2 hours of ascent the second to go to San Juan, and 4 hours of ascent on the third to finish with a great all-you-can-eat buffet in Chivay. Our guide Aldair was on top, in a good mood, guided us well and shared his knowledge. We recommend it.
