Our favorite place for a Friday night date overlooks the Catedral. We are then at a higher elevation than this pic. We can see the lights of all of Arequipa including the Plaza and the Catedral. Another time for what the Catedral's Museo has. Ciao.
I think we just tired of the all the churches and cathedrals that we had already seen. We started to struggle to tell the difference between them. Yes the stone colour is "pretty", looks good in sunshine and sunset but it is just another overly...More
Although the church is really beautiful outside, there is nothing special inside. The museum does not have many exhibits and probably the only things that are really interesting are the stories of earthquakes and the rebuilding of the organ.
This is a glorious monument in Arequipa and I highly recommend the guided tour. I could have spent the whole day here, exploring all the corners of this picturesque place, but my husband finally made us leave after about 3 hours. There is just photo...More
We were awestruck by the size of the organ in this cathedral. Very well preserved after 2 earthquakes.
The unique pulpit with the satan at the bottom was unique, have not seen that in any other cathedral.
