Walked around here. Didn't have the time to go inside. The place, the surroundings were great. Very friendly, safe, clean touristy place. Enjoyed it.

We went to the church a late afternoon at around five where the cathedral was open to the public. Music was playing within and it was a very enjoyable atmosphere to see the cathedral in.

It is just an average church. Nothing really special. Furthermore it is annoying the fact that it is no possible to go inside the church in shorts and they do not provide something to cover yourself. My girlfriend was not authorized to visit the church.

The cathedral is stunning. It sits right in the Plaza de Armas and is massive. Its impossible to miss. Take pictures of the outside with Misti in the distance. Worth going inside to explore as well.

Don't miss this place! How could you. It fills an entire side of the Plaza! But inside is even more magnificent than the exterior architecture. The tour is excellent. We were not allowed into the Cathedral itself because there were no services on the day...More

The Cathedral is enormous and unique - it runs parallel to the facade. One of the largest pipe organs in the world. A whole museum of religious artifacts. The best part is the short climb to the roof where you overlook the Plaza Central and...More

This is more than a tour through another cathedral. It includes a museum of treasures from previous eras -- gold crowns, lavish headpieces and robes encrusted with jewells, all used in Catholic celebrations and rituals. The Cathedral is immense and has a huge organ shipped...More

Don't forget long sleeves and shorts - you see a great church with its narrow basic layout but to long and high wings it makes for its special impression. I almost seems that it breaks into two pieces...great artwork as well on the inside.

True to it's name, arequipa as the white city was created from volcano ash. This beautiful church was made from that ash and it's absolutely breathtaking. Wished we were able to go visit the inside but since we arrived on a holiday, their labor day...More
