Bridge in the city

Really central bridge over river Chili. We were lucky to see official graffitti production. Very good orientation point

Bridge over the River Chilli
Sep 2019
The Puente Grau is one of the areas oldest bridges still in use. It enters the main town of Arequipa over the River Chilli near the Tumblas area where the original workshops and stables have been converted into a fine neighbourhood.
There are fab views towards the volcanoes. It is only twenty minutes from the main square and if you follow the roud through the Tumblas area you will return to the square near the Catherdral.

Puente Grau
Sep 2019
i live just off of the Puente Grau on Av. Bolognesi, and every time (daily) we cross the bridge to get to San Pablo Univ. or into downtown. in spite of the new bridge crossing the Rio Chiili, crossing this Puente bridge on foot means breathing in a lot of pollution from buses and taxis.

A great place to take pictures from the volcanoes.

Good viewpoint
Jun 2019
It's close to the historic center and for those not wanting to walk up to the viewpoints, it offers a fantastic view of Misty volcano. The bridge itself is quite nice and crosses the chili river, there is a nice quiet park on the other side that usually has Alpaca and llamas you can feed.

We had taken a taxi from our hotel to Yanahuara, from here we walked back.As we came to this bridge it opened up the view to some spectacular sights.

A Nice View if You're Going Somewhere Else
May 2018 • Couples
The Puente Grau (bridge) is an interesting mix of construction/architecture and has a great view of the river and falls. It's also convenient to get across the river to see some of the best sites. But, it's not something that's worth going to see just for what it is. It's noisy, smelly and crowded with bad drivers and lots of people.

Best place to inhale traffic fumes in Arequipa....
Feb 2018 • Solo
It's just a bridge, folks - the one you'll likely cross if you're wandering between the Plaza de Armas and the Yanahuara lookout. Views are nice, but sidewalks are quite narrow, traffic is constant and the bus fumes are overpowering from start to finish. A necessary evil rather than a TripAdvisor-worthy 'attraction', I'd say.

Moderately cool bridge, but with views
Feb 2018 • Solo
The bridge itself isn't anything to write home about, I don't think, but the views from around the bridge are really nice. It's easy to walk to from the city center, so it's good to put on your list of things to do/see in Arequipa.

It's a bridge! But a good place to take photos!
May 2017 • Couples
We lived in Arequipa for a year about 5 minutes from this bridge so we used it almost every day. It's a bridge! You cross it to go places like the two malls ten or fifteen minutes up the road, the wonderful French restaurant just on the other side called Casta Fior (best French Toast in the world!), explore the neighborhoods of Yanahuara and Cayma, or stroll along the riverside. It's also a great place to take photos of the volcanoes on a clear day! But you take your life in your hands when you cross the road on the bridge!

Another more interesting bridge to visit in town is the historic Bolivar Bridge or Eiffel Iron Bridge. Interesting area that few tourists get to or know about but an interesting walk from the center of town.
