A bus tour gives you the opportunity to see more of the countryside of Arequipa. For example this mansion was a nice suprise. It gives you a glimpse of how the colonial houses were furnished. If you're planning you're wedding this is an option as a location for your big day. It has it's own chappel and patio and terraces and rooms to party.

On the outskirts of Arequipa, this location has historical significance of the Spanish presence in Arequipa. A beautiful capilla is set amongst the rustic accommodation. Pictures and old furniture along with historical notes make this a must see place

The house was interesting, well furnished and lovely garden. Was interesting to see things from that time and to understand that he built the house so far away from the city as he had a special needs child.

If you have the time, it’s interesting , not sure I’d call it a must see unless you are a history museum buff.

We asked to visit on Saturday the 11th and they told us that the service was from 9 to 5.
We went to the place on Saturday and they told us it was closed because it had been rented.
It is not close to the center so we lost a lot of time.
They should give the information well

Dreadful communication: sent them a whatsapp on the morning of my visit (to the number on their website) to check it would be open to the public and they said it was open. Later, upon arriving at the gates, I was told by the security guy it was closed due to a wedding. I called the WhatsApp number back and she said “really sorry, it was me who answered your message, but I hadn’t checked the schedule properly”. I had to pay the taxi there and back for nothing. This was my second try visiting this place, since during the double decker, it was also closed and nobody told us anything beforehand. I really would not recommend this place.

we like the colourful and carefully restored mansion. Folks were hungry as well so the integrated bakery was the beloved place.

On the 4-hour bus tour, we stopped at this house of the founder of Arequipa. Due to the illness of his son, the house was constructed on the outskirts of Arequipa. It is situated in an open space affording a spectacular view of Chichani. There is an entrance fee of 12 soles.

Just returned from a phenomenal wedding reception here. It started outside in the amazing grounds around the old mansion, dinner inside one of the many rooms, and a huge party in the center indoor/outdoor fountained area.... Not really to go just to see it, but venue-wise it is over the top and a great place to entertain and have a grand party.

This was an optional part of an afternoon city tour. Although nothing special, it is an excellent example of a historic mansion that has seen many different tenants over the centuries. Worth the half hour it takes to visit the site.

Like La Molina de Sabandia, this place is no longer in the countryside. It is close to some of the most hideous housing I saw in Peru, likely thrown up illegally on steep barren hillsides. All our taxi rides in Arequipa took longer than expected and involved twisting and turning through ratruns, so there must be numerous routes to the place, but none of them will deliver you to open country. It just isn’t worth contributing to the city’s traffic congestion and air pollution to go there. And unless you actually enjoy sitting in a car for over an hour, it’s not a good ratio of pain for one hour of pleasure in a garden and old house
