We booked the trip through our hostel, the name of the agency Kusi Travel but it seems to me like all the other Agencies function the same way. Early pick-up, cold morning so we were given blankets (heating not working?), safety belts not there or not working (except the driver’s and the guide’s). The bus was 99% filled with Peruvians. As foreigners, we had to pay the highest fare to Enter the Valley: 70s. However, we were not offered what we expected. After 3 stops at viewpoints (each of 10 mins), we were rushed to see the condors (we were lucky to see them), 40mins. After that the whole bus was forced to wait for 6 people who decided to go to thermal pools, there was no plan for the rest of the tour (the majority of it) so we just hang around for an hour (paying 15soles for the toilet!). After that we hang around for another hour in the lunch place where the only option for food was a 30soles worth buffet, No other option offered, I felt we were being ripped off again (it seemed like some people had it included in the tour prize and they were again Peruvians only!). It did make us feel a bit discriminated. Luckily I Can understand some Spanish and was able to follow the guide’s explanations. But if there were other foreigners ... I Don’t think these trips are well tailored for us foreigners. We are only expected to spend, spend, spend but we Don’t get much for our money! The Canyon itself is stunning and so are the views on the way. But consider the rest before you book.

Dear traveller, We are very sorry for all what you passed in your Colca trip, but I think YOU CONFUSED US, you were not part of our tour group we are not kusi travel where you booked your tour, we are AColcaTours and mostly we have small groups for all our tours and an english speaking guide is always available, I think before booking your tour is better to have everything clair for what you pay and what you are going to get to avoid being desappointed later, also it is important to consider that a full day to Colca it is a very long day and most of the time is in the bus as the Canyon is about 5 hrs driving just to go, of course it is more recommendable to go for more days but some times there is not time than one Day, that is why this option of full day is available. Always it is importante to considere this point* We wish you all the best. Kind regards, Victoria

Great from start to finish - Vlado at Colca trek in Arrequipa ( details lonely planet) Jerusalem street, explains the tour well and showed photos of the trip. There was a lot packed into the days with great stops to see condors and walking to viewpoints and cycling mostly downhill and dip in the thermal pool on second day. Our guide Salvino new his stuff and made sure we were all happy. The restaurant used for lunch for both days had an excellent buffet and the lodge used was very comfortable with huge beds and views to the mountains. We did not do the big trek descending into the canyon as it is wet season but still a highly enjoyable trip. We also took the option to get the bus back to Puno saving around 6 hours of bus ride and was well organised and good quality.

Had a great time with the bustour Colca Canyon. Maria was our tourguide, she did a great job! Pick us up at my hotel right on time, 03.10 hours. Mini van with blankets and driving for 3 hours. We saw a lot of condors, beautiful birds. Amazing to see this. We also had breakfast, jumped in the hot springs and were "home" at 17,00 hours. Great day, thanks very much!
