We completely agree with the one star review previously posted. We travelled as a family and we were extremely bored. Day 1 is wasted in transfers and an underwhelming visit to Iquitos. Days 2 and 3 the guides take you out on boats to look for animals...and you really have to look, because there aren't very many. We got so... More

NO SECURITY! My family were aboard the Delfin Amazon Discovery when pirates boarded the first night as we slept and robbed us each in our cabins at gunpoint. Although this boat is billed as the newest boat on the Amazon, it was not properly equipped for safety. After departure, we were told there is NO WIFI and NO KEYS to... More

This was very different to our usual European holidays and a bit daunting but one of the most interesting and unusual trips we've done. I have to start by saying that our tour guides were exceptional. Not only were they knowledgeable in plants and wildlife in perfect English, they were witty, funny, entertaining and the life of the party. This... More

For a first class experience of the Reserva Pacaya Samiria, and also the Amazon near Iquitos and the various black water rivers and creeks near Nauta, the MV Aria can't be beaten. Firstly, the quality of the guides was outstanding. We saw a truly amazing variety and density of wildlife in the area, and the guides were very knowledgeable about... More

Do not believe the negative review of the ship, its crew or IE. My sister is a Marine Engineer and she saw no safety issues at all, we felt very safe and there was no indication that there had been any problem. Problems occur any where you go and we felt more afraid on a Carnival cruise ship we took... More

Great sightseeing with phenomenal guides. Service could not be better. The vast amount of wildlife and an opportunity to see it up close and interact with the natives who live along the river was unforgettable. To do all this in a luxurious ship with great local food was exceptional. Did I mention we had an opportunity to swim in the... More

We spent three nights on the Delfin 11 and it was magical. The staff tour guides, cooks, waiters and crew were fantastic and very enthusiastic. If you were unhappy with this experience, it would be hard to see what would make you happy. I cannot speak highly enough about this trip and would recommend it to anyone. It is expensive,... More

My wife and I had a fantastic trip at the end of May on the upper Amazon with International Expeditions aboard La Estrella Amazonica. My wife has resisted going on this trip, but she had a great time and is enthusiastically telling all her friends of the Piranhas she caught. So if you are worried about the bugs, animals, weather... We spent 4 days and 3 nights on board the Queen Violetta and it was the highlight of our South American holiday. It was organised through Rainforest Cruises and they were a pleasure to deal with. I had many questions before we booked and Matt was very friendly and helpful and went out of his way to help us. We... More

If you like being alive, do yourself a favor and do not vacation with International Expeditions or allow your loved ones to book a trip with this company. Larry and Christy Hammer were killed in a fire while sleeping on-board the La Estrella Amazonica on the first night of their International Expeditions trip on April 10, 2016. IE was more... More
