This tour allows us to know in a synthesized way the most important places of the archaeological and cultural offer of the provinces of Azuay and Cañar; our first stop is in the archaeological complex of Ingapirca, where our guides travel through the history of local aboriginal cultures and the expansion of the Incas in the territory corresponding to Ecuador. On this journey you can taste the typical gastronomic offer of the region (Biblián).
We continue our tour to Gualaceo and Chordeleg. Places where the craft activity stands out. In Chordeleg we will visit the jewelry made in gold and silver with the technique of filigree, here our visitors will have the opportunity to have free time to know the town and visit the jewelers and craft shops in the area; To finish our tour we visit the House of Makanas.

San Blas church in the east part of the city is rather different from other colonial era churches in Cuenca. What you see is a reconstruction dating from 1935. I did not find the pretty confusing mixture of various styles and materials very attractive. Pink is the most distinct color of the building. The fact the Spanish used stone from conquered Tomebamba in the original construction is not something to be proud of either.

I was on my way to the church when I was sidetracked by the lovely plaza in front. So peaceful! Nice to see families relaxing and enjoying the day and eachothers company

I did not find it open. You would have to go during service to see inside the church. The plaza in front of it is very pleasant and there is a great pizza shop there.

Attractive church located at the far end of a small park bearing its moniker. The church is unique in the fact it’s stone facade is almost pink in certain light. The cavernous interior is softened by the light yellow color scheme. The tiled floors are reminiscent of some churches in Spain or Portugal.

One of Cuenca's most beautiful churches. We were there on the day of a wedding so we couldn't go inside, but we got a good view of the sanctuary.
