There are a number of spas in the Cuenca area, Novaqua was recommended by a number of friends and now I understand why. Whereas some reviewers (whiners) commented on a lack of a guided tour, the reason for that is simple, there is no real need. The current cost varies according to your choices. My wife and I and a visiting friend chose the full use of the facility + breakfast option for $25 each. The breakfast was great and NOT a continental breakfast. Eggs, toast, coffee, fresh juice, fruit. It is soooo easy to ask fellow visitors or staff for suggestions on which route to take as you go through the spa. Once the circuit of the spa is complete…nap time, it’s that relaxing 😌. There are other cheaper and much more expensive options nearby. But “residents” of Cuenca (at least the ones I know) have recommended this spa and for a good reason. You can go for all the bells and whistles, or you can go for a $16 basic package. We landed somewhere in between with our $22 package + $3 more for breakfast. I’ll be doing it again, and again and again if my wife has anything to say about it. ☺️

Great afternoon and dinner at a more than reasonable price. Volcani spring water relaxation, steam, sauna, massage for two, along with an excellent dinner for two for less than the cost of the massage alone in the US. Amazing service as well.

Today we spend our day at the novaqua spa. It isn't very big but it was very clean and not busy at all. There is a nice warm swimmingpool and smaller pools with very warm and very (very) cold water. Recently they also opened a mudbath. We both had a massage which was great and good value for money. The only downside of this spa is that the employees only speak Spanish. Not a problem to us since we love to learn and practise our limited Spanish a bit. Could be a problem though if you are not able/willing to do any Spanish at all.

I’ve spent many days at Novaqua soaking, swimming, enjoying the Turkish bath, the mud, the hot/cold pools, massage....everything. And I always give high marks and reviews.

Yet, we went yesterday, and only half of the areas were open, no hot water for showers, and construction workers being loud, and disruptive. We only stayed for 2 hours and left.

When the upgrades are completed next year, I’m confident it will be a showcase once again. My suggestion is to give half price rates while construction is going on. I’ll return when the construction is completed

We arrived near 11am on a weekday. Super tranquil, quiet, plenty of pool space and seating around the pool. Advantage of not being the #1 rated place, but one that acts like it. We arranged our time for couples jacuzzi followed by massage and followed by our meal. In contrast to another reviewer (they likely listened to the feedback), we were shown where every facility was and how best to use them. By no means was it a walking tour, though. KEY ADVANTAGES: As opposed to other spas with a formal “circuit” that you go through in order once, we were free to take our time in any order we wished, skipping what we didn’t want or returning multiple times to some experience we really liked. No children! I love families, but a spa should feel like a spa. There is a fairly cheap thermal pool the takes kids right next door for a few$. As others said, the lockers are not secure. We combined our few necessary valuables to one purse and left it with reception with no troubles. I would say the food was a bit better at another nearby spa, but this doesn’t negate our experience and what’s more important. SUMMARY: Quiet. Total control over what experience to have. We had the diamond package for 2. I would go back for the $20pp and a la carte a few snacks and eat a full meal elsewhere. Add other services you wish. Recommend midweek days for flexibility, availability, and max the relax!

It's one of the places I come every time I'm here in cuenca is beautiful so relaxing very private no kids allowed only 16 and older you have a mud from the volcano you can rub on your body it helps to take toxins out of your body and also clears the skin then you have the cold and hot tubs that helps you with the blood circulation or if you have pain with your legs from the barices it's really good then also they have a turco it's an amazing turco natural from the hot water of the volcano and they offer massages different types but I like the full body massage you come out of there like new fully charged I highly recommend to everyone to try it 👌five stars place.!!

First visit to the hot springs area we selected Novaqua based on recommendations from friends. We were extremely pleased with the choice. Pricing based on amenities selected. We chose the option that included main 'pool' and the hot/cold room and sauna. Thought we were paying $20 for me and $12 for my over-65 husband but we got more Cash back so it must have included some discount. Nice dressing rooms with showers. Robes, soap and towels provided. We appreciated that they don't let children attend this facility so we need not be concerned about 'urine accidents' in the pool. We arrived at 10 am and the pool was still filling. Nice atmosphere, gentle music, free hot tea. Will definitely return.... maybe after noon so the pool is high and hot.

Foremost...no children under 16 allowed. That in it self is a victory. They supply you with bathrobes, swimming cap, and a delicious exit soap. It's super duper clean, big thermal swimming pool. I paid 20 bucks for the whole experience (does not include massage). I did the thermal contrast pools, enjoyed the mud exfoliating cave(apply and let dry and then rinse off). Also enjoyed the Turkish Steam Room, which they place a lovely batch of eucalyptus branchs, makes a huge difference. They have a snack bar, I recommend their tea which that day was Hierba Luisa (yummers) and had an "Empanada de Aire" (Yes empanada of air, it's fried dough with little bit of cheese and a dash of sugar...delicious). You don't need to bring anything (not even flip flops)except your tired soul and your willingness to let go and take it all in. I went with a group of 16!

This thermal spa has a nice large volcanic water pool, sufficient to swim lapse if you go at a time there are not a lot of people. However, the management has been acting a bit strangely, raising the price slightly almost every month, and let the maintenance go quite a bit.
