Cuenca is full of cathedrals, iglesias, chapels. This is one of the most impressive. Just at the edge of the most popular plaza. Worth visiting.

This church is now a museum with many beautiful artifacts. The structure is laden with art and sculpture. It faces the new cathedral across the plaza. There is a small entrance fee but you will be glad you peeked into the past of Old Cuenca.

On our travels through Ecuador we have visited many churches and found them very interesting. This one didn't disappoint, interesting artwork and sculpture and lots of places to light candles if you like to (we do!)

I stopped by here when it was open, and have heard it’s a great concert location, as well. In the center of town, definitely worth visiting.

The church is in restoration and it is interesting to see what they are salvaging. The sculpture and painting is exquisite... More humanistic that the Quito school.

The domes are being refurnished and painted but the cathedral is still open limited hours. Visit the iTur office across from the flags in Parque Calderon for more specific info.
