My husband and I went to Quito on the 1st March. The plan was to walk the streets and visit several travel agencies to see what cruises were available, prices etc. We did have some ideas already from our research. We sat down with Alejandro for a couple of hours as we chatted and he worked out dates and hooked us up with 2 cruises seperated by 5 nights on the islands. You just knew he was at the top of his game and we had so much confidence in him that we booked and paid a deposit and never looked at another travel agency.
We had the most fantastic 8 day catamaran cruise on Nemo 2. You couldn't fault anything. Crew, boat, meals and you would swear that they organized the dozen or so hammerhead sharks to be there just gliding underneath us as we snorkeled.
Unfortunately the rest of our time was cut short by the COVID 19 virus and we got stuck on the island for 9 nights. Who do you think emailed us to see if we were OK. Yes. Alejandro. We have returned to the mainland but not home yet. Alejandro keeps checking and answering my many questions as to what's going on. He lifts my spirits and encourages us that we will be home soon.
I hope that when things in our world return to some normalcy that tourists return to this piece of wildlife wonderland and let Alejandro and the team at Midland Travel help you with your plans.

We felt honored to be the agency that you chose for such a memorable trip as the Galapagos Islands. That encourages us to keep improving and giving our best for our valued customers.
You certainly came in a difficult time when the pandemic hit worldwide, so we did our best to support you and we were very happy when you finally arrived home. The pandemic hit Ecuador blindsided and nobody knew how to deal properly with the situation. We put all our energy into helping our clients in any way possible because for us, that is what a travel agency is for.
Now we are in the difficult task to reactivate tourism in Ecuador, so messages like yours really lift our spirits and encourage us to keep pushing through these hard times. We are sure that better times will come and that more lucky people will get to see our treasure called Galapagos.

I would definitely recommend Midland travel, and in particular Alejandro, for any travellers looking to visit the galapgos. We booked a last minute (less than a week in advance) trip and despite the short deadline Alejandro was able to sort it all our for us.
They went above and beyond in helping us. Alejandro spent a long time explaining the various types of trips, pros and cons of different itineraries and differences between boats. He was also able to source prices which were very competitive compared to other agents.
What really summarised it for me was when they kept the office open for us much later than normal on a Saturday to help us finalise the payment and details. I've never come across this level of service before in a Travel agent and was really impressed. Thank you!

I booked a last minute Galapagos cruise with Alejandro at Midland Travel, and have nothing but high praises for the services offered. I contacted several local travel agents once I arrived to Quito and among them, Alejandro immediately stood out as someone who is very knowledgeable about cruises, upfront about the good and bad about each boat/itinerary, and has excellent intuition about what a customer is looking for. He has also gone on a couple of cruises before and thus could relate his experience on different boats based on customers needs. These regular inspection visits, to me, are essential for any agent who wants to sell Galapagos cruises in an informed manner. And therefore, Midland Travel gets a huge plus point for prioritizing this.
Communication with Alejandro is very easy - both in person and via text. I paid in cash at the Midland Travel office and he then dropped off the cruise voucher at my hotel within the same day. Even after the cruise is paid for and confirmed, Alejandro is reachable in a matter of minutes. In fact, most of the time it is him chasing after me for replies, rather than the other way round! I flew to Galapagos several days before my cruise departure, so being able to stay in touch with him via WhatsApp right up to my cruise embarkation date is definitely valuable. All in all, it has been a quick, fuss free, convenient booking experience and I have no hesitation in recommending the services of Alejandro/Midland Travel for future travellers to Ecuador.

Used Midland Travel to book last minute Galapagos cruise. Whole deal was done over the email and What's up chat from the US. Our biggest concern was to wire the money , it was a hefty amount for 13 day cruise for two people . Other option would be to pay cash in Quito but that amount in 20$ bills... Or withdrawal in Quito with daily limits on the debit card... But everything went smoothly. As for the cruise - nobody else could offer the price or itinerary that Alejandro Sanchez did. Our preferred itinerary would already be in progress when we arrive to Galapagos but Alejandro arranged for us to catch up with the cruise on one of the islands. When we run into a little hickup (ferry to the island was sold out) we called Alejandro and he was able to resolve it over the phone from Quito with his local connection. Highly recommend Midland Travel and Alejandro for all your Ecuador adventures.

Alejandro was the best tour guide I have ever worked with - exceptionally knowledgeable, attentive and offering above and beyond service. We came to him to book a Galapagos cruise and a few Quito day tours, and soon were peppering him with every which question about Ecuador, Quito, and beyond. During our time in Quito he truly became a friend and I cannot recommend this agency enough!

Midland Travel did a fantastic job of answering all of our questions and helping us select the experience that best fit our timeline and group needs.
Alejandro was especially responsive and beyond helpful in relaying information about our Salkantay Trek to Machu Picchu, travel insurance, accommodations, and what to expect.
We had such a great time in Peru thanks to Alejo and his team at Midland Travel!

We were very happy with the service we received from Midland Travel. They arranged for a mini-van transport from Quito to Cuenca with stays in Latacunga, Banos, Riobamba. Our English speaking driver/guide Guillermo was a very safe driver abd we got along with great. Guillermo also accompanied us on our hikes up Cotopaxi and Quilotoa crater. He made stops at local attractions along the way, educated us on local culture and history and never rushed us or pressured us to shop at any particular store or outlet.. Alejandro was our sales consultant and provided us with straight forward reasonable pricing with no games or bait and switch.

Easy communication and attention prior to the trip to define itinerary and lodging.
Excellent organization throughout the two weeks we spent travelling. Good, cozy hotels and extremely kind and helpful guide (Javier).
The ship in Galapagos (Nemo II) is a small catamaran (Avoid in case of motion sickness, although pills were available for everyone).
The visit to “Medio del mundo” is not particularly interesting and you can consider spend some more time in other places, like Quito, an interesting city to stay longer than just one day.

We booked our first class cruise via MT.they were by far the most helpful and good value of the various travel agencies we talked to that day. Others quoted v high prices or had nothing available. MT gave us several options. We went with the Anahi. Last minute booking so was excellent value for money. Would recommend to anyone looking for tours in Ecuador.

Alejandro was fantastic to work with, he was responsive and so knowledgeable about everything Ecuador and the Galapagos! He was not pushy at all and made sure we had all the information to make an informed decision regarding our trip and tours. He got us a fantastic price for our fairly last minute pre-Christmas cruise to the Galapagos, helped us secure our flights to the islands and assisted with tours out of Quito! He even arranged to have a company come to our hotel for covid testing. He advised us as well of last minute entry restrictions due to Covid.
I'm so glad we found him to work with to make this trip happen!
