My husband and I and our 4 kids (ages 9 to 17) had a fabulous month-long trip in Ecuador with SOLEQ. We were met at the airport by our guide Rodrigo and driver Luis. They took excellent care of us for the next 23 days on the mainland, til we flew to the Galapagos for our last week. We have traveled to a fair number of places, and Ecuador has become our favorite! It's gorgeous and inviting, friendly and safe (roads are excellent!), full of things to discover, but didn’t feel tourist-y. Don’t think we EVER had to wait in a line (probably thanks to our guide’s good planning). Wish we could have stayed twice as long. On the mainland, we visited Quito, Otavalo, Mindo, Papallacta, Tena/the Amazon, Banos, Riobamba, Cuenca, and Guayaquil. Rodrigo knew these places intimately and we benefitted immensely from his experience. We did something new every day - a mix of activities - adventure (swinging in the clouds, zip lining, river rafting, canyoning, horseback riding), eco/agro (rainforest hikes, bird watching, animal rescue, volcanic thermal baths, orchid nursery, chocolate factory, banana plantation), cultural (cathedrals, markets, indigenous villages, an inspiring community center for at-risk youth in a poor neighborhood of Quito, a museum or two), and relaxing down time. We saw unbelievable highland scenery, volcanos, waterfalls, rainbows. Flowers, ferns, orchids. Monkeys, weird rodents, iguanas, caymans, sloths, tortoises. Llamas, alpacas, vicunas. Birds birds birds! Oodles of hummingbirds, parrots, and small colorful things (sorry we are not birders). Indigenous cultures and pre-columbian ruins, colonial cities with cobblestone streets and leafy plazas, colorful markets. Handwoven textiles and hats, leather goods, silver jewelry. Roses, chocolate and fruit fruit fruit! But our guide Rodrigo was truly the key to this trip. He was organized, responsible, fun, articulate, sensitive, caring, creative, and a wealth of information. He narrated our trip in a way that was personal and engaging for each of us. He planned special little surprises to help us celebrate our daughter’s birthday and our anniversary. He helped us find great vegetarian food (4 of us are veg), he rerouted us on the fly to avoid a landslide on the highway ahead, he soothed us through 3 kids getting sick in the car! He planned the perfect breaks along the road - snack stands, beautiful photo ops, and community playgrounds so we could run around or join in on a pick-up soccer game. He was calming and relaxed, but we know he was working hard to make sure we had nothing to worry about. We are so grateful for him. We loved getting to know him and consider him a dear dear friend. We have traveled plenty on our own and can appreciate the charm and thrill of mustering through the unknown. But on this trip, we got to sit back and enjoy. Highly recommend SOLEQ.travel

I joined a group tour from Quito to Guayaquil and was very happy with the services provided by Soleq. The quality of accommodation and breakfast were hard to beat, especially the haciendas (La Cienega and Abraspungo). Although we spent quite a lot of time on the bus it was never boring because of the guides’ immense knowledge about geography, history and culture of the country he shared with us. My personal highlights were the Quilotoa crater lake and the city of Cuenca. I highly recommend Soleq to everyone who wants an authentic and varied tour in the beautiful country of Ecuador.

Our trip to Ecuador was one of the best of our recent years. Very few people knows how beautiful and rich in culture, nature, and tradition Ecuador is. If it was not for Rodrigo from SOLEQ...we may have remained one of these people. After 8 days in Galapagos (Organised via Galapagos AlterNative, check it out!) we went on a 9-day trip in the Ecudorian highland: Quito, Mindo, Cotopaxi, BaNos and finally towards Tena in a EcoLodge next to an Indigenous community in the Amazon (rio Arajuno). Rodrigo has guided us all the way, he knew everything, from geography, history, local culture, local food and traditions. The kids could really learn from him and so did we. He has become a real friend. Don't miss out Ecuador! Le encantera'!

I booked a solo trip to Cuyabeno through Soleq and they helped me find a tour that fit my schedule after many back and forth a. They also very kindly drove me - the owner himself- to a local charity with which they are affiliated so that I might drop off donations. It was a great experience overall!

We booked a 5-day Galápagos trip with this agency and everything worked out very well. The hostal they recommended was perfect for a family trip with kids (9 and 11). We highly endorse "Casa Opuntia" in San Cristóbal with their multi-lingual and very family-friendly staff. Their local visit agency "Martourgal" also was a hit. Kleber has been extremely helpful and we highly appreciated the special attention towards our daughter whose birthday it was. The guide called Genesis they provided was also very good, highly knowledgeable and very nice to the kids. All in all, a very nice trip. Thank you so much!
