Wonderful location, friendly, helpful staff Ela, Chasky and Louis. Organizing small trips and big adventurous . Time of my life . Definitely will stay there again. Delicious breakfast with coffee in the morning to wake me up and "aguardiente" at night to put me to sleep.

I had an amazing time at Kingdom Kichwa - Ela and Chasky are very hospitable and friendly, after a couple of days staying at their guest house just felt like staying with a couple of friends you can share a cup of (great) coffee or a (equally great) bear with. They were unbelievably helpful with questions concerning the city, how to get around, what to see etc and offered interesting tours to the Andes surrounding Quito almost on a day to day basis. I went on a day tour to Quilotoa (volcanic lake in the Andes) with Chasky and some people from the guest house, and had a great time hiking to 4100 meters, visiting indigenous markets, tasting great food and experiencing Ecuador and the Andes off the beaten path. (Also, the music while driving was great, Joe Arroyo is my new favorite!)

My partner and I wanted to visit some of the natural wonders nearby Quito but wanted something a little more off the beaten path. Luckily enough our lovely hosts Chasky an Ella at Kingdom Kichwa (also highly recommended) offered an overnight trip to visit Cotopaxi and surrounds with an overnight camping trip. Chasky is a very experienced and skilled climber and knows the area well, we took his 4WD off the beaten track and saw the back roads to the volcano. Along the way, we drove through small farming communities and stopped to take a small hike to a beautiful waterfall. The countryside was stunning and we were the largely the only people around. It was a very cloudy day when we hiked Cotopaxi so unfortunately we didn't get a good view of the crater but the mist made it very surreal and myseterious. Chasky was very helpful and ensured the safety and comfort of everyone as we hiked to 4800m! There is a small respite area that we reached, where you can get refreshments and rest (the hot chocolate is encouraged). The way down we stopped at other sites to see the flora and fauna. Chasky was very knowledable about the history and culture of the areas as well. We camped in a field of a small village but still had access to a kitchen and hot showers. We had a great time and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for an authentic experience exploring Cotopaxi and surrounds.

If you are looking for a full day tour with the perfect ratio of culture, art, music, outdoors, and scenery, definitely speak with the folks at KK. The hosts Chasky and Ela took the time to make sure we had a memorable experience, it was off-the-beaten path, just as we had asked!

We had our accommodation at the Kingdom Kichwa Guesthouse in Quito and booked a 4-day trip with our lovely and helpful host Chasky from Ecuador up to Colombia by 4WD Jeep. The trip was planned based on our interests and condition. Most of the places we visited were far away from the tourist mainstream, which gave us the opportunity to see the daily life, culture and landscape of Ecuador from a different view. By travelling in a 4- wheel Jeep, we visited places we wouldn’t have seen with day- tours or travelling by bus. One of the most interesting and must see places was Maldonado, a small village at the border to Colombia where we have seen the coffee plantations as well as the complete coffee production process. Overnight accommodation was provided by locales – a wonderful experience! When reaching the border to Colombia, Chasky was helping us organizing the whole immigration procedure what made entering Colombia easy and smooth. All in one the trip was entirely satisfying, unforgettable and every penny worth. If you are interested in climbing, hiking, mountain biking or anything else – Chasky is the man 
