Great city view even if slightly overcast. Go early to avoid lines. They are very safety conscious requiring vaccine card, hand washing before entry. On top there are great trails and an amazing photo opportunity in the swings.

This place was awesome, by far the most enjoyable thing we did in Quito.

Go as early as possible to see the huge Volcanoes surrounding Quito before the clouds build up. Most days it opens at 9 or 9:30 and the clouds form within an hour.

The views from way up that high are amazing - you are above and in the clouds.

Aside from the views, there’s a fun swing up top and some llamas after a bit of a hike.

Everyone warned us about the cold but most people up there were wearing t-shirts. If the sun is shining it gets very hot.

The cable car travels to 13.000 feet above sea level! The view is fantastic, and we got lucky with the sunny clear day and were able to see the city below and the volcano. The only issue is the altitude.

Visited her with my teenaged kids. Unfortunately the time we were able to go was on a Sunday afternoon of a holiday so it was very busy. I had my kids wait in line for the ride while I went and waited in line to get tickets. Then met up with them with the tickets. This is what they want everyone to do so the ticket line only has one person per party. Overall we waited about an hour and a half to go up. It's about a 9 minute ride up. At the top there are trails with views in all directions. There are cafes and a gift shop as well as bathrooms. We had some nice views and then the clouds and rain came in. Go in the morning to avoid the clouds for the best views as well as the crowds. There is a small church up there as well and some swings. It costs $8.50 for adults and anyone under 18 is $7.00. It was a $5 taxi ride from El Centro Historico or Old Town. When you go to leave get on the free yellow bus which will take you back to the entrance where the taxis wait. Great views of Quito.

We gave ourselves 24+ hours to adjust to Quito's altitude before taking the TeleforiQo up another 4K feet up the side of the Pichincha volcano. Allowing that time was a smart move (thank you to everyone who recommended it) because I felt a little light headed and way out of breath as we hiked upward rom the teleforico drop-off. But by drinking lots of water and taking it slow, it was no problem.

My daughter was determined to get her Instagrammable photo on a mountain swing, and after Baños de Agua Santa was axed from our plans, she was thrilled to learn of the swing at the end of the TeleforiQo. With so many people afraid of travelling these days, there was NO line for the swing, and we were even able to swing side by side for a while with nobody else around.

We only hiked up a little farther from there so as not to punish our flatlander lungs early in our trip, but the views were still stunning. I never expected to get that immersed in the natural world so close to such a huge city. Magical.

The ride itself was smooth and fun with cow and horse sightings along the way as you pass lovely hillside farms. Before teleforicoing back down to the city, we enjoyed hot chocolate & tea at the Cruz Loma Café - it has a huge wall of windows with yet more sweeping views.

Ecuador is a Wonderful Country with incredible attractions and this is one of them. Go early on a clear day and you will have the best chance at some amazing views. The weather can change. Be dressed and prepared for all types of weather conditions in this extremely high elevation.

An awesome afternoon! We had limited time in Quito and this was SO worth it. You can an incredible view of the entire city. We hiked the loop that went up to the swings and then back down a gravel path where we came across two friendly llamas. It was the perfect way to spend our one afternoon in Quito. I’d recommend it to every visitor. The taxi costs about $3 to get there, the ride up is like 10 minutes and we probably spent about 2 hours hiking around. It was a bit chillier at the top.

My daughter (13) and I rode the Teleferico one afternoon while staying in Quito. We had a tremendous time. I am sure one reason the experience was so positive was due to how few tourists are traveling these days, so we practically had the views to ourselves. The swing at the top was a hoot, especially as it is unmonitored and there were only a handful of people wanting to swing over the city.

Great views of Quito from above 13,000 feet. As mentioned you should take a car to from the base station, if you are one of the last to leave in the evening you may have to walk down the hill for a cab. There are multiple hikes to take to the antennas, looking south and the north up to a higher elevation with a swing set. A gift shop and great little lounge with massive windows to enjoy the view while eating and drinking. Worth it for the views if you have the time.

You are rewarded with a stunning vista, with multiple snow-capped volcanoes, as long as you visit on a clear day. I was lucky to be able to do that, and I really enjoyed my visit.

I took an uber to get here, but the car actually cant reach the TeleferiQo base station unless you pay an extra $2.50 which is the parking charge they asked for about 700 meters prior. So I decided to get off and walk. I kinda regretted immediately as I forgot that this was at a high altitude. So it was a bit of a huff and puff exercise uphill before I arrived to the base station.

Once there, there is a makeshift sink/soap station where you are asked to wash your hands before you enter the ticket building. The TeleferiQo ride up is about 20 minutes.

At the top, you walk around the trails. There is the swing that seems to be iconic across Ecuador. There is also a cafe with great cheesecakes, as well as a souvenir shop. There is also a place where you can do horse riding around the higher trails, or pet (?) a llama. Didnt pet him but took some photos. I didnt do the Rucu Pichincha hike but many locals did.

After the visit, I walked back down to the same spot where I started and requested uber. There are also taxis waiting around at the base station if you dont do that.

It is probably a better place to go on your second or third day. Don't visit when you are sleep-deprived as you may not adjust well to the high altitude. 2-3 hours is sufficient if you dont do the Rucu Pichincha hike.
