We really enjoyed this park with our family. There's a very good relatively new large kids play area - shame some people ignore the no dogs signs. The boating area looks fun, though we didn't try it. There's lots of people walking around, so good people watching opportunities. Enjoy the large Quito sign that you can sit in for a... More

Great place to see the many varieties of spectacular orchid and bromeliad in Ecuador plus other plant groups from the different climate zones of the country. Compact and well laid out gardens. 2 hours sufficient. Small cafe for drinks and snacks and nearby main road has many restaurants for lunch. A way to see many plants that you see in... More

The Parque La Carolina is a beautiful park that is home of the fascinating botanical garden with a glorious display of some of Ecuador's more than 4,000 varieties of orchids. There was also a temporary display of butterflies that was magical. The park includes the department of biodiversity that contains a small museum open to the public. Don't miss a... More

La Carolina park is totally reinvented, the track, the soccer and basketball fields, the lake and the boats. It is good to see that our public places are improving

This is hands down one of my favorite city parks I've visited. The are lots of family activities offered, kids play area and even a running track with workout equipment (sponsored by Nike). If you need a place to get away from the bustling city, it's a wonderful stop during your stay.

This park is very big and has so many things going on that there is something for everyone. We rented paddle boats for the artificial lake. Kids loved paddling around and going under the water fountains. There is a small restaurant serving local Ecuadorian food as well as hamburgers. We wandered around the playground and the dog park just watching... More

The park is very pretty and has a huge playscape for kids of all ages. When we visited there were many vendors selling food and drinks. It was almost a festival atmosphere.

Don't get me wrong, it's a very nice park. My daughter and I took a stroll this afternoon, looking for the botanical garden. I looked online for a detailed map and couldn't find one. There is a lot of construction going on (which is great! new features!) but the construction obscured the area that we were looking for. Nonetheless, we... More
