We are a Los Angeles based running group who will be in town for the Guayaquil Marathon 42.2 km in Oct 2019. We are a group of around 40 and will be traveling for 14 days. Our group is 40 people and we typically travel for 14 days. Every year we visit a different country to run a marathon. We have been to Ghana, Italy, Vietnam, Israel and Jordan. What makes our running club unique is that we run with individuals struggling with drug addiction and homelessness. We believe running can be a tool which helps depression and one piece of the puzzle to help stay sober. Some points of interest would be (and open to many more suggestions)....... - Galapagos 4 nights (swim with whale sharks) - Banos thermal baths - Climbing volcanos or mountains (we are an active group:) - Waterfalls - Nature Reserve/Eco Lodge - Cloud Forest - Cooking Class or Handicraft Class - Meet and learn about the Indigenous People of Ecuador - Hands on monkey experience - Devils Nose Train Maybe some sight seeing here and there for down days but activities are way more fun I’m still doing some research so I’ll probably have some more specific ideas soon. Please check out a trailer from a documentary made about our team to give you a little bit more info on who we are. Google Skid row Marathon for more info. Thanks, Melissa

Tip Top II Review (2 Replies)
Just returned from a 7 night stay on the Rolf Witmer Tip Top II boat that visited the following islands: Santiago, Bartolome, Genovesa, Isabela and Fernandina. The trip was amazing. We saw fantastic wildlife, had a great guide who loved the Galapagos and teaching us about the islands. Would again book on the Tip Top II. We had a top cabin (#10), which had 2 single beds. There was a closet with a, a nightstand and 2 drawers under each bed. If you wanted to unpack, you could do so. The...More

How nice to see that the ol' girl is still doing great. (We traveled on the TTII in 2009 and had a similarly wonderful experience on her.) One very minor point--you ARE allowed to bring in roasted nuts or dried fruit (both of which we showed to the agent at the airport and she approved them). What you CAN'T bring in is anything that might sprout and take hold (witness the desperately invasive blackberries on Santa Cruz and San Cristóbal). So fresh fruit or raw nuts or seeds would likely be...More
