Wow - it's a spectacular view from the top but you might feel as if you are starring in an episode of the Great Race to get up there! You can actually walk to the second floor of the cathedral for a wonderful view, but then continue onto a catwalk along the nave of the church (yes over the roof!)... More

Visit the Basilica on foot or take the Quito City Tour bus. If you are on the bus continue on to the Mirador el Pancecillo to see the view of the Basilica and city.

This is a magnificent site for a wedding. All pews were filled for this event and I would have liked to have a real tour!

Stunning from the outside, some great stained glass, two shops selling Ecuadorian cultural clothes and items. Also an opportunity to go up really high into one of the spires. I went to the viewing place at the bottom of the spire and there were some great views but no further as that was high enough for me and it was... More

What an amazing experience. I went with my father and his my uncle on our way to the center of town. We spent almost 3 hours exploring the towers and taking in the breathtaking views. It's amazing how long it's taken to build this church.

I spent about 2 hours touring the Basilica. The taxi drivers know it as La Basilica. The main church entey costs $2.00 and you are allowed to take photos. After the inside church walk out to the church courtyard and to the right of the cafe there is a ticket window and the tower entry is another $2.00. You go... More

A very beautiful church. You must climb the tower for incredible views of old and new town Quito. Don't attempt if your afraid of heights.

Definitely worth the $2 entrance. Serene building with far less bling compared to others in the city. Take the other $2 trip up the tower for spectacular views and a strangely-placed but decent souvenir shop.

For $2 you can't go wrong. It's an amazing view of the city, and a bit of an adrenaline rush as you walk up the super steep stairs! Great photos, and great fun!

In our tour of Quito we visited one of the old churches - the Basilica. It was an interesting tour. Paid $2 to get a guided tour of the church which took 30 minutes. We paid $2 to go up to the towers. Crossed a narrow wooden bridge and climbed a steep step to reach the tower. It was a... More
