This is a good pedestrian square. There is always something going on. There are various musical and other festivities from time to time. Every day there are people coming to receive alms from the San Francisco Monastery. This is a timely reminder that not everyone...More

There is always something happening on the plaza every Saturday. There are concerts, festivals and indigenous markets. The only problem is finding out what is going on when.

I regret to say that I didn't find anything within and around this plaza that would make me want to stay there for more than 30 minutes. However, I enjoyed at least walking through it, especially because you get a great view of the statue...More

A bigger plaza than the Grande, loads of small business around it, and very busy. There is a lovely café on one corner which serves strong Ecuadorian coffee, great to pass the time away. the security here stops any street sellers from bothering you. That's...More

This opening Plaza with the San Francisco church in the back and the 2 trams each sides, doesn't offer much. There is no place to sit, no plant, no trees, just a few vendors sitting on the grown and the police watching for security. Compare...More

This was the location of our hotel and so we spent a lot of time in the square. There is a simple restaurant with outside seating in the square. It has an attached crazy free "museum"/ shop under the church. At first it looks just...More

The square is very quiet and the church is worth a good visit to see the organ. Most of the people visiting the square are just using it as a thoroughfare to get to the other side. It is interesting that many of the locals...More

Plaza de San Francisco is a great place to grab a seat, and just watch all the activity in the plaza. Also, not a bad place to just take a nice break. There's alot of activity going on, not to mention the impressive architecture surrounding...More

Beautiful church. Worth a good look. the church has a good shop underneath in the catacombs. You can not take photos inside the church - this is the same for all the churches Quito.

There isn't much going on in San Francisco Plaza. Most people in the square at any given time are just passing through. The people who mean to be in the square are usually watching their children play with the large flock of pigeons. It's a...More
