I strongly recomend the place if you want to have a tremendous view of the all city. No necesity to go up to the top of the virgin (you have to pay), at parking level you already have a spectacular view !! Enjoy!

I could see this from my balcony in the distance so it was special to actually see it up close. She is huge. My guide tells me she is taller than the Jesus of Rio. Around the statue which is made of 7000 pieces of aluminum, there are food stalls and merchants and kite fliers. The views are amazing.

Being up close and personal with the Virgin of the Bread Roll (Panecillo) is not as good as the views from the top of the mountain. Use caution about the time you go up here as the neighborhood is not safe after dark.

Lovely tribute to the Patroness of Quito, it is, I think, best to go up the mountain and see the Virgin at night--she is lit up beautifully, and the night vistas of Quito are lovely.

Amazing view of Quito. And fun watching kids fly kites and sample (what seems like) safe street food. Also instructional to see how the statue was assembled. It left me, though, a bit disgusted with the Western mind set. Virgin Mary taming evil represented by a dragon? No wonder we're so screwed up and unaware of the damage our patronizing... More

Please go by Bus. Do not go there by walking unless you like sports and stuff because the climb is hard.

It was a great view of Quito, and an interesting walk inside the monument. It gets chilly so make sure you take a sweater and of course your camera!

You cam climb inside (around 30 meters) and from the top you can enjoy a better view. Below you have a good restaurant with a very romantic view in the evening.

We took the SilverSeas Town tour to visit this attraction. Because members of our group had already visited the Old Town on our own, SilverSeas split the group with one bus doing the regular tour and we taken to visit the statue. I wanted to get a photo down low from the parking lot and the guide asked me to... More
