We were taken by the beauty of the church and the grounds - attended at the time when choir was practising and we loved it.

Mass was going on when we stopped by but we got to walk through and take some photos. Such a beautiful church and interesting tale about it. The story says that an indigenous Indian was charged to build the church but he was lazy and...More

The square is used as a market place and for colourful festivals. At its highest point there are views over the town. It is attractively lit at night.

a simple building with a square courtyard. nothing special on the ground floor. The highlight is the amazing church upstairs with the winged madonna and gilded ceilings.

This church is so ornate and beautiful. It is absolutely unbelievable. A must visit. I would add a photo if I could but photography is not allowed.

I was in Quito 10 years ago and the entire interior was draped in plastic for renovations. Today (2016) it is a totally new experience. While not as "flashy" as La Compania, it is a gem of a church for reflection and meditation.

Sat in the Plaza and watched my son chase the pigeons. A lot to do in and around the plaza. The only bad thing was that the church was closed and wasn't able to go in.

Very noisy here. But I was able to overhear some tour groups giving information. Definitely photogenic. I don't know how the girl got in my photograph.
