A wondrous church with English guides and amazing history. To bad photos are not allowed. Best church in Old Quito

It is considered the summit of Latin American baroque, one of the jewels of colonial architecture; completely decorated with thin sheets of gold of 23 carats, one of the most beautiful places to visit in Quito, Ecuador.

I'm not a fan of churches. Yes, there is a lot of gold in there. To me, a bit gaudy. Is it art? It was part of my tour. But if I were on my own, I would avoid all churches.

The church is beautiful inside and out. Gold leaf on every surface. If you like touring old cathedrals, put it on you list. Small fee.

Stunning church in the heart of the old town surrounded by poverty & locals hawking their wares. The inside is one of the most awesome sights with floor to ceiling gold leaf. Take the tour to learn more about its past but worth the visit.

This is an exceptional church; fully gilded; note the special painting of the Last Supper with Christ dining on guinea pigs and drinking chicha (a fermented corn drink)!

Very elaborately decorated church. Would probably be 5-star if we had a guide of some kind (written or oral). I'm sure that I missed a lot. They don't allow you to take pictures inside.

the Quito churches in Colonial Quito are stunning. And the gold leaf... I've never seen so much gold.

I’m not sure, however each fee’s are very reasonable, some just take donations. I don’t believe we paid more than $5 pp at any of these churches and we visited several. You might try Quinto Tourism for that question.

Puedes conseguir info en la pagina oficial de la fundación, sin embargo el precio de la boda rondaba entre los 500 dólares.
