My husband and I have just toured from Quito to Otavalo, to Cotopaxi and Quilotoa and onto Banos with Pajonal Tours. We organised the tour with Maria by email. She is very professional, answering emails immediately and, with her expert knowledge of Ecuador, helped us plan the week. What a wonderful week it was with Juan Carlos, our guide and Dario, our driver! Great guiding, great company and we loved travelling through the avenue of the volcanoes. Ecuador is a great country and we highly recommend Pajonal Tours. Dianne and John (Australia)

I booked this tour after my daughter had a great time one year ago. I essentially followed her template. Working with the agents via email we are able to follow the same basic plan with minor changes to allow for less time on the water/boat time due to my wife potential for sea sickness. All the facilities were very nice and appropriate. I guides were friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating. I never felt nervous about the driving or the neighborhoods. Getting used to the altitude of Quito was an issue coming from cold sea level Alaska. Diamox really helped. I enjoyed eating on the town more so than the meals fixed by the facilities. Having a set time and place to eat limited personal flexibility and decreased exposure to local establishments especially in the Galapagos. I enjoyed the breakfast option at all of the sites as we didn't have to hustle up a meal before heading out for the day AT Bellavista resort in the cloud forest, the dinning room was the only game in town and offered a great time to networks with other guests. We were exhausted by the ned of the trip, as we tried to pack as much into a short period as we possibly could. Our choice! I would have for gone a few afternoons for free time if I had to do again. And will do next time I return. The arrangements were mostly seamless. There was always someone there to help with what ever came up. Sometimes the arrangements were unclear until the last minute. My limited spanish didn't help with that. People were on time. reservations were confirmed ahead of time. I only had one occasion to call the agency during the trip and I got prompt answer to my questions. I can't think of how the service or arrangements could have been better. Great time stress free and fun.

Our five-day cruise in the Galapagos Islands was a dream come true. I'm so appreciative of the help of Maria Vallejo in planning and arranging it for my adult daughter and myself, at the culmination of my 18 months of volunteer work in Guayaquil. It was perfect in every aspect, and, although rather expensive for us, was a wonderful value for the time and money. Our boat the Natalia was beautiful and comfortable, our room spacious, the staff was competent and friendly, our chef prepared a delicious and nutritious variety of meals and snacks (Ecuadorian and international), our English (and Spanish)-speaking naturalist guide Mayra was truly outstanding. She was friendly and humorous and so knowledgeable about the islands where she grew up, made sure we maximized our time (we traveled at night so that our days could be used to see about every animal (sea lions, turtles, iguanas, lizards) and bird (boobies, gulls, frigatebirds, hawks, herons, etc.) on the several islands we visited: San Cristobal, Floreana, North Seymour, Santa Cruz, Espanola. We snorkeled every day at least once in the beautiful clear turquoise water, swimming with turtles, sharks, sea lions, and every variety of gorgeous fish. We felt safe and well-cared for, and very united with our international (all English speakers) and very congenial group of ten (maximum capacity for this boat is 16). It was a fabulous and unforgettable experience!

Galapagos had always been in my list of places to go. I tried to book a trip last summer but was unsuccessful, probably because the tours were booked up or the fact that I was traveling alone. This year I looked in the internet and found out about land tours of Galapagos which would include sites in Ecuador. I asked for information to a few agencies and this one, Pajonal Tours responded right away. I informed them of the available dates I had and Maria Herrera, the owner of Pajonal gracefully accommodated me. I spent four days in Quito with my own driver, Jorge and my tour guide Juan Carlos. Old Quito was quite an experience and the beautiful countryside of Otavalo and MIndo were incredible. Also they took me to Mitad del Mundo, where a line supposedly marks the path of the Equator. Galapagos was not up to my standards. The tour operator(not Pajonal) was not very organized but still got to see some of the exotic animals in the islands of Santa Cruz and Isabela. Flying back to Guayaquil I met Carlos, the tour guide in charge who drove me to Cuenca. Carlos more than a tour guide is a teacher. I learned so much about the history of the Incas and the local Cañaris. Cuenca is a beautiful city and on the way back to Guayaquil, Parque Nacional de Cajas is a must. My trip to Ecuador was a success , thanks to Pajonal and their very professional team. I would not hesitate to use them if I decide to come back to Ecuador again.

This was our first time in Ecuador and after searching online for hours we decided on Pajonal Tours. They were responsive and easy to work with. They connected us with Ivan who was our driver/tour guide for 8 days. He was eager to please, always on time and great company. He is relatively new as a guide and sometimes needed to use books for answers to questions. But, we could not have asked for better company and responsiveness to our needs. We recommend Pajonal Tours and Ivan.
