This is the Quito City Tour bus — red bus with open top deck — which makes 13 stops throughout the city including Centro Historico, Basilica, La Mariscal, Botanical Gardens, Casa dela Cultura and Panecillo among others. The starting point is Blvd Naciones Unitas but I started (and bought tickets) at the Tourist office on Plaza Grande. The entire circuit takes 3 hours if you do not hop off and take another City Bus in an hour. I rode the entire circuit without hopping off and got a nice refreshing taste of the city. There was some commentary during the trip but it was very general but informative. The bus did not stop for any great length at each stop except for an extended stop at Panecillo hill, where one can get some nice views of Quito below. The fare is $15 — $7.50 for seniors and children <12 yrs — well worth it!

This is a full day trip to Cotopaxi volcano. Our guide Jackie was very informative and friendly. After leaving Quito at 7am we stopped at a lovely inn for breakfast that was excellent with fresh fruit, homemade bread and butter and freshly scrambled eggs. We had the incredible good luck to have beautiful clear weather we we had great views of the snow-covered volcano as we approached, plus 5 others at quite a distance. We picked up to lively indigenous guides (one speaking English, the other Spanish) to lead us up the volcano path to the relay station. It was a tough climb due to the altitude, but breathtaking. We stopped at a lake and explored native medicinal plants on the way back and then stopped at the same inn for a late delicious lunch. We returned to Quito near 7pm. I paid the "senior" price for this excursion which was an incredible value at $40. I can't guarantee everyone the same great weather we had, but this is so worth it. Make sure to dress warmly. It's cold and windy up there.

I took five Quito Tour Bus Tour day trips to Mindo, Cotopaxi, Banos, Quilotoa, and Papallacta from Quito. My tour guides were Alejandro, Carlos, and Irene. This tour company is a safe and fun way to explore Ecuador. When I arrived in Ecuador I did not have an itinerary plan to explore outside the city of Quito and was wondering how I would see some of Ecuador’s world-famous national parks. After visiting the amazing landmarks through Quito Tour Bus, I was very happy and left Ecuador feeling I was able to see and experience so much of what Ecuador has to offer. On two of my trips, I went with my father, and on three of my trips I went solo, however, the tour guides were so nice, helpful, and loved their job that I felt like I was making friends on my trips. Irene was very energetic and knowledgeable about the tours we visited and about Ecuador as a whole. I have now returned to the United States with 1000 plus photos of me in Ecuador and lots of happy memories of seeing Ecuador's most precious landmarks. Thank you Quito Tour Bus!

The tour bus was a fantastic way to see all the city highlights. I would highly recommend it. It was on time, had numerous stops where you could get off and explore, and the narrator was informative. Highly recommend, makes you feel safe and comfortable.

Irene was a fantastic guide, excellent english and providing local insights, funny stories and made the experience so much better with a professional guide. We (my wife and I and another couple) left early 6:45 am and with a couple of short stops (Coco tea and bathrooms) we arrived at the National park by 8:30 am. We saw some wild life - deer, sheep, some special birds. It was a clear and sunny day so we saw base camp, the plume from the top of the volcano. By 10:45 am we were on our way to Quilatoa Crater with a couple of stops along the way ( Ecuadorian roses, gift shop and ordered lunch) we arrived at the crater at 1 pm. The clouds were rolling in but still had some sunlight . We hiked some of the perimeter and used the various lookout points to take photos. We came back for lunch at 2 pm and enjoyed Guinea Pig and Potato soup. Fun fact about Irene she raises Guinea Pigs at home and sells them for special occasions, birthdays, Christmas and New Year. Irene answered all of our questions as we wanted to understand the local culture and Irene is indigenous to Quilatoa area where she grew up. It was a perfect day because we had clear skies and sun shine .. but Irene would be the first to warn her Chicos (guests/ guys) that some days are foggy and over cast. We did a private tour, just 2 couples so we could go at our own pace and do the things we enters to do.. Irene accommodated and Patricio our driver was also great in his Kia Grand Carnival we had lots of room with AC if we wanted it.
Irene is Ananay in Kichwa. Irene tough us a few words.

This tour was excellent! My boyfriend and I took the Banos de Agua Santa tour with Irene and Ivan. Both were incredibly helpful, informative, and up beat. Irene is a wealth of knowledge around Ecuadorian and K’iche’ history. We made some short stops to try the local ice cream (Salcedo) and see traditional roasted Cuy (Guinea Pig). Irene and Ivan made sure we got to spend as much time as the group wanted at each stop. They went above and beyond what we excepted our tour to be. We really appreciated that they were willing to pick us up and drop us off at our hotels outside of Cotopaxi and Banos where we stayed an extra night. With our trip in late April, there were not enough tourists to take the multiple day trip of central Ecuador. Qutio Tours was very accommodating and made sure we still got to see all we wanted in just a few days. I highly recommend this tour and if you book be sure to request Irene!! She is the best in the business!

Did the Quilotoa Lake tour in December and it was truly worth it, despite the unpredictable weather! Irene, our guide, was fabulous, making everyone feel great, her enthusiasm is contagious! Her English is amazing, and her love for her profession shines through! Our driver was fantastic too! I think his name is Marcelo! We were 9 people on our tour, which was small I think. I will definitely use this company again!

With the help of Diana, we booked a private tour for 5 to Otavalo and Laguna de Cuicocha. Irene and Jimmy were our tour guide and operator, and both took such good care of us.

Irene is funny and informative, the way she shares information about Ecuador really sticks with you. During the drive she shared lots of information about the country and culture, even reaching us phrases in Kichwa.

Even in a single day trip, we covered so much ground. The first stop was to try some bizcochos, a traditional biscuit. The shop family is proud of their culture and happy to share the history of their people and customs. We learned the history of the biscuit and its significance, and got to try one (delicious!). We also got an arts and instrument lesson, including bits about the significance of the agave plant.

At Otavalo we got to explore the markets and an indigenous guide came aboard to help explain some of her culture and tradition. Because it was a private tour, we were able to receive lunch recommendations from Irene.

We had a private indigenous music workshop, where we learned about certain instruments and got to hear songs. Lastly we got to view the beautiful crater lake Cuicocha.

I would recommend Quito tour bus to anyone interested in experiencing Ecuador. This was only tour 1 of 3 I experienced with them during my time at Ecuador. Diana is responsive and professional as the lead organiser, and Irene and Jimmy were absolutely lovely as guides. We appreciated how happy they were to share their culture with us and welcome us to their country!

We took this company for almost a week in different tours through Laguna Quilotoa, Cotopaxi, Baños, Otavalo and Puerto Misahualli.

Great price for all the trips we made, with spanish and english speaking guides. Excellent drivers and guides during these days we travelled.

We want to make a special mention to Irene and Carlitos, as they have been overwhelming in their explanations, company, driving and knowledged about this beautiful country, making the trips unique. We hope to get back with them next time for new travels!
