I visited this museum for about little less than an hour on Tuesday morning. The venue was very spacious and was very comfortable to walk around, seeing mysterious and sometimes comical pre-columbian artifacts. Audio guide is included in the tour, but there are also english...More

I enjoyed this museum for many reasons, but also bc they offered an audio guide in English. The museum itself is beautiful and well organized. Each section provides insight into different cultural practices of the Incan peoples.

Found this hidden gem on the third of my three trips to Quito. The collection is fabulous--the most extensive pre-Colombian collection I have seen. The small size makes it navigable in an afternoon.

If you enter El Alabado full of preconceptions, as I did, be prepared to have your eyes opened. In the course of my education, I’d learned that ancient art had progressed from Egypt to Athens to Rome. But, later in life, on encountering the marvels...More
