About Biking Dutchman
"There’s a reason the South American Andes is spoken about with awe, and the cone of Ecuador’s Cotopaxi volcano is the icing on this mountainous hunk of cake. Scraping the sky at more than 5800 metres above sea level, the stratovolcano is currently snoozing after chucking a tantrum in late 2015, when it spat smoke and ash into the air. Rug up for altitude and thunder down its foothills on a 30-kilometre cycling trip with Biking Dutchman Tours. A back-up vehicle will carry you up high, where you’ll swing onto the saddle of a 21-speed mountain bike and head off-road, winding through ancient lava fields and past wild horses grazing in grassy plains studded with wildflowers. Stop at Incan ruins, enjoy a homemade picnic lunch, and spot the snowy giant reflected on the surface of Limpiopungo Lake... " GET LOST MAGAZINE

We did a custom tour for the family to accommodate our 8 year old and 12 year old son. The tour involved Quilotoa and Cotopaxi. The guides in Roberto and Patricio were both super nice, patient, informative and great. We all had what felt like a very fulfilling experience. We were super lucky in that we spotted Condors, deer, wild horses and had a very clear visual of the volcano. Definitely top notch.

We had a great trip down Cotopaxi! The guide was knowledgeable and safety oriented. The gear exceeded my expectations and made the trip very enjoyable. The riding is a cross between road and single track/animal trials. Not very technical if you’re an avid mountain biker but hard to pass up given the scenery and experience! Highly recommend.

We had an amazing two days with biking dutchman. Moutainbiking down the volcanos of Cotopaxi and Chimborazo was an experience to never forget. The other activities in the two days were also fantastic. We slept in the cozy village Salinos and stopped coincidentially by a rodeo competition. We feel like we saw the real Ecuador this way. Our guide Roberto, with the nice company of Amalia, was wonderfull. He told us a lot about Ecuador and the places that we visited and he just was really charming. The only downside about our trip, was that we did not book more days. These two days were the highlight of our trip so far.

I'm not sure another 5-star review is needed, but it can't hurt! This tour was fantastic from the first communication to the final drop-off: Well organized, wonderful people, adaptable to the clients, excellent bicycles, delicious lunch. Highly recommended!

This was awesome: I cycle in NYC everyday, but I've never ridden down a volcano from 15,000 feet, but I loved every minute of it! Well-organized, awesome guide and driver, and the experience and environment are great. Happy to recommend this experience. Got in the truck around 7 am; back in Quito at 3 in the afternoon or so.
