This review is for Klein Tours which is also Go Galapagos but especially the ship Coral 1. The communication process of booking and planning this trip was horrible. It is so hard to get answers to basic questions. We wanted to arrive a day before our ship left and it was like the end of the world, we were made to sign a document that says we forfeit all activities we missed. This took weeks to request, where they would not tell us a time or place until a week or so before the trip. Then the day before we meet up, we were told by our hotel, the boat had a different time and directions on how and where to meet. The itinerary they advertised was different then what we received where we missed destinations and activities. Was supposed to do 4 activities(hikes/snorkels)a day we got 3. We were told we would visit Kicker rock, the brochure in the ship on the table in the main lounge showed us going to Kicker Rock. The final day the guides told us, no we never go to Kicker rock, cruise boats can’t go there. More misleading information. Our room had holes in the roof, no AC, no water pressure. The wetsuits that we were forced to purchase had rips in them, they didn't have enough and didn't have the right sizes. The don’t clean the equipment. They don't help you with luggage, they don't accommodate passenger request. No consideration for guest with noise from the crew. We had to search the ship to find a bartender to get a drink on numerous occasions. My wife is a vegetarian and they would bring her meal out(the few time she got one) after everyone was done eating. They ship(Klein tours) mandated we use them for air travel to the islands from the main land. If we did not they would charge $180($90 pp) to book our own. Even with the fee we could get a cheaper flight on our own, however, we wanted to comply to make it easy for them and booked through the Klein. They would not tell us our flights until a few weeks before hand. Finally, we received a confirmation code. I called the airline with the confirmation code I was given, the airline said we were not on the plane and had no record of us. I told the travel agency and they said its fine don't worry about that the Ship had it handled. The airline said we weren't on the plane and the agency said just don't worry about it. Think about that! When we were in town everyone was told to meet at the bus to return to the ship at a certain time. Everyone was on time. The guide said we were missing 2 people. Everyone agreed everyone was there. The guide said we have to wait. A family then said to the guide, “our daughter and son n law, did not come and cancelled one day before the trip.” The guide said oh we are waiting for someone else, we just talked to corporate. 30 minutes later after waiting on the bus, the guide comes back and ask the family the names of the guest who did not come. Then the guide says oh we can go, corporate made a mistake, that’s who we were waiting on. The communication and poor execution was never ending. I can go on with examples of poor management, poor customer service, bad communication. But I will say, the Galapagos as a whole is beautiful and amazing. The guest we meet on the boat were great. The guide we had was really knowledgeable and nice. But I have no idea how Klein tours and these 3 boats are staying in business with the frustration they cause. Frustration that can easily be eliminated with simple communication. It was almost like they purposely did not tell us things so they could take shortcuts and save money.

The Galapagos Legends cruise ship was fantastic! We just went Dec'21 and only had about 35 people although it could hold up to 100. The service was friendly and outstanding; the 3 naturalists were all experts and happy to share their knowledge. If you have the chance, you must take this trip. Was 5 days enough? Maybe not. We enjoyed it so much we could have taken a longer one. We had a Junior Plus Suite and a Balcony Suite, and actually like the Junior Plus better. We definitely want to go back and cruise on the Legends again. There were other people on our trip that had been on the ship for 9 other trips! The boat had many places to hang out and lounge, read, and just enjoy the views. They had an additional menu just for vegetarians, which was great. We booked our Machu Picchu/Galapagos trip through Max from Ideal South America. Just book it, you won't be disappointed!

we took our grandson to Galapagos on the Legend using Adventure Life (go Galapagos/Klein tours) as our travel agent. We liked the fact that they're here in the United States. Kevin and Rose Marie did an outstanding job, rebooking us twice because of Covid, arranging for a Covid test in Guayaquil during a short layover before our flight to the states, and most exceptional was their intervention in getting our luggage to the boat after our airline removed our bags in Fort Lauderdale. The legend offers 4 tours. We selected South because we wanted to see the albatross in Espanola during their breeding season, giant tortoises in the highlands of Santa Cruz and flamingos on Floreana. We also took the north central tour so we could see the red footed booby's on Genovesa. The 8 days were packed with activities. Every day offered 2 excursions, one early in the morning and one late in the afternoon, each lasting about 2 hours. In addition, supplemental activities like glass bottom boat, kayaking and zodiac rides were available. It was an extremely active and exciting adventure. For those who wanted more leisure time, there are massages, gym, hot tubs, pool, library, chaise lounges in the sun and inside, games, contests and bar. All of the people were exceptional. The naturalist guides . . . we were fortunate to have Cesar. . . the head chef Andres, who was so accommodating to those of us with special dietary needs, and all of the crew. Very competent and personable.

Our family booked our family reunion on the Coral II for an 8 day tour in August. It was perfect! The boat and staff were fabulous. The staff really went above and beyond to make our trip special. They took extra care with my 91 year old mother. And our guide - Cornelia - was absolutely amazing. We all fell in love with her knowledge, passion and enthusiasm for the Galapagos! We honestly went into this holiday with high expectations and they were surpassed! The staff who helped book our passage and answered out million emails were also great and very much appreciated. Every step was well thought through with staff to meet us at the airports etc. NO stress and SO MUCH FUN! Book it! You won’t regret it. We also spent 5 days at Sasha Lodge in the Amazon and loved it almost as much!

Spent 7 days on the Coral 1 boat in the Galapagos. We were a party of 5 and booked one Junior suite and two standard rooms. Because of an error made in the forms of the Galapagos visa we had to pay $100 at the Quito airport even though this amount was prepaid when booking the tour. When we communicated this to the operator we were offered either a refund or an upgrade of the two standard cabins to Junior suites. We chose the upgrade and were not disappointed - the cabins are very comfortable, have all the necessary amenities, great views of the sea and islands from the two large windows and very comfortable beds. our guide - Emil Lugo - was amazing. Very professional, knowledgeable about everything we saw, warm and friendly. Service on the boat was impeccable - every time you leave your cabin, it is cleaned and organized, food is excellent - fresh ingredients, nice variety, never the same dish twice and perfect service, always with a smile. Activities were all fascinating - the walks on the islands were all very interesting, versatile and teaching, not too intense with breaks on the boat for rest. One day was spent on the island of Santa Cruz with a private bus - visited the two craters at Los Gemelos, the giant tortoise farm with the impressing Lava tunnel, the "Fausto Llerena" research center and more - all interesting and beautiful. We signed up for Wifi service for $80. It barely worked and in the end we were not charged for it, which was fair but I think it should be a free service included in the tour price anyway. Another additional charge was for the wet-suits - $50 per person. Again, I think this should be included in the tour price, as are the snorkeling gear. All in all we had the best time and felt we got our money's worth and more.
