Everything from planning to having the experience worked out perfectly. We started planning our trip in July 2019 and started our adventure on 2/23/20. Because we started the planning early, we had a great selection of ships and rooms on the ship. Our Travel Advisor was extremely helpful and attentive to our needs and preferences and provided us with excellent choices related to the selection of our 20 passenger Luxury Yacht, Infinity, which was part of a group of ships from Royal Galapagos. Everything from the ship to the itinerary to the hotel reservations and the flights to the Galapagos from Quito was handled perfectly. Once we chose the ship, the dates and the itinerary, we made our own flights to Quito to correspond with our plans. All communications were quick and efficient through phone calls, emails and live chat. We chose to wire transfer the payments rather than pay the extra expense of using a credit card and that turned out to be quick and easy. Initial airport transfers were quick and reasonable by Uber. Once we paid our final payment,2 months prior to the trip start date, we immediately received an email with all the necessary vouchers, specific flight info, what to bring and other details necessary for a smooth and safe adventure. I can't say enough about the Infinity, our ship. The accommodations, food, service, staff, naturalist guides, activities and locations of all the itinerary spots were extremely satisfying, rewarding and over the top. The trip was everything we hoped it would be and more. In terms of wildlife, it felt abundant and never ending. We saw hundreds of sea lions, penguins, blue-footed boobies, marine and land iguanas, sea turtles, flightless cormorants, frigate birds and of course Giant Galapagos Tortoises. Not only did we see these animals on land, but had the opportunity to snorkel with many of them multiple times. No matter what other vacations we plan or have completed this trip to the Galapagos Islands will always remain one of the best!!!

I have just retired and as a celebration of that event, I am taking my family to the Galapagos Islands; ages ranging from 36 to 73. I have had exceptional support and assistance from Esteban Mancheno who is with Galapagos Travel Center. Esteban worked with me to the right time of year, the right boat, and assisted with the special medical issues of one of the family members. If you need to consult with an expert in the weather, different islands and their unique characteristics, cruise options sailing crafts, and hotel accommodations while on the mainland, I highly recommend Esteban; he is not only a knowledgeable professional but has a warm and friendly manner.

We had booked a 6 day trip through mainland Ecuador combined with 7nights/6 days island hopping in Galapagos which had to be rescheduled a couple of times due to the pandemic. The support we got from the Galapagos Travel Center team was outstanding! Everything worked flawlessly, the hotels, tours and experiences were amazing, and the tour guides extremely helpful, knowledgeable and great fun to be with. Particularly Stalin in Ecuador and Isabel on Santa Cruz Island were amazing! Gabriela from the agency was outstanding in accommodating all our change requests, organizing everything perfectly and helping us through the Covid regulations.. We had an incredible time and wholeheartedly recommend to also add a few days in Ecuador to any Galapagos itinerary, as it is an amazing country with many "off the beaten track" destinations, great culture and nature, and the most wonderful people. Thank you for a fantastic experience!

The overall experience was amazing. But, we had one guide for 15 instead of 1 per 10 as advertised so unless the tour was full you won’t get the advertised guide to traveller ratio.
Our guide was often so far our in front of the group on the treks that those who were at the end of the group heard nothing. Many of our co-travellers were 60+ or wanting to take photos so were left behind to fend for themselves....It felt, at times that we hiked for hiking sake...saw very little wildlife!
On some of our snorkeling activities there was no zodiac present and there were some dangerous situations. The guide on most occasions was sitting on the beach. I waved, as instructed, for help one day. Nobody arrived.
The zodiacs did not have whistles to alert people when they were snorkeling regarding efforts to move to a safer location.
On our 'party' night there was a lack of the sort after seafood. The ship apologized and gave us a free bottle of wine.
If you book DO NOT book a cabin at the front of the ship. We wondered why we had earplugs in our room. At 3am on the first morning the anchor etc was pulled up, causing an incredible amount of noise and shuddering. Whatever they were doing lasted for hours plus. This happened on numerous occasions. No warning of this was given and happened every time the boat was moved...usually at night.
The shower drain was inadequate, or blocked, which resulted in our room being 'flooded'. Our only alternative was to turn the shower off mid-shower to keep the water level down.
Our lecture night regarding the Galápagos Islands was interesting to myself but I have an Environmental Geography degree and 38 years of teaching this sort of topic. A co-traveller commented that 'You were probably the only passenger on the ship that had a clue what the guide was saying'. It was way too technical.
Don’t get me wrong but it was expensive. For the price some things did not seem to live up to the cost. This may sound like a whinge but these issues came from numerous trip mates.

My family and I booked a trip through Galapagos Travel, which included a Galapagos cruise, a couple days in Quito and a few days in Peru. The tour guides and drivers that work with this agency were all punctual and nice. Our travel agent, Elizabeth is the one who made parts of this trip a nightmare. She was nice and accessible up until the moment I mailed the payment. Everything quickly changed after that. She told me I would receive the vouchers as soon as my payment posts. It took 6 weeks from the time my check was received for me to finally get them with virtually no updates nor communication from Elizabeth. .WE have not received the results of our Covid test, booked through the agency and our flight to Peru was in a few hours. It took me multiple tries and many hours to reach Elizabeth to get them. I asked her twice if there was a health affidavit for entry to Peru. Elizabeth told me there was no such requirement. When we got to the airport, they told us the health affidavit was mandatory. They let us download it on our phones. It was in Spanish, Wifi at the airport wasn't working and it took us over an hour to fill them out with many tears and barely making our flight right before it took off.. When I asked Elizabeth about booking a tour to see some ancient ruins, she told me they are closed Sunday, which was not true .She never emailed me documents I needed for travel insurance, which I asked for multiple times. Book with a different agent if you use this travel agency!

Thank you very much for your comment As soon as we have the total cost of the services you lost due to the delay of your flight, we will let you know so you add it to the claim to be made to the airline. If there is something else you need from us please let us know. Best regards, Jorge

This company booked us on a "luxury" cruise - Alya - with a family with unruly small children. They ran and screamed the whole time on the boat. Guide and crew were more accommodating to them then to the rest of the passengers. The guide even left for an excursion without the two of us. One of us was injured on an excursion and the crew nor the guide even checked on us. Sadly - a trip of a lifetime was ruined due to booking with this company.

We are sorry to hear that because of some inappropriate children's behavior, your experience onboard the Alya did not exceed your expectations. Unfortunately, we cannot control anyone's behaviors, it runs out of our control. We are a tour agency, and we focus our services on personalized trip planning and booking; Galapagos Travel Center does not manage the logistic of each departure. I can assure you that we have never had these issues before, and we had already passed along this information to the company that owns this catamaran. Our Sales Manager is going to get in touch with you to let you know about the resolution from the catamaran about your claim. Jorge

The Galapagos Travel Center (galapagosislands.com) was one of the agencies recommended in the Moon travel guide for the Galapagos I read. After looking at all the agencies, I liked GTC's website and the information provided there. So, we used them to book our trip. Our agent Esteban was quite helpful and always prompt in his responses. When he went on vacation, Diana stepped in and our trip planning continued seamlessly.

All of our airport transfers and hotel accommodations were handled well by the agency. There was some confusion at the Wyndham by the airport our last evening, but that seemed to be more due to an inexperienced hotel employee, not a problem with our booking. The agency had provided us with our Wyndham confirmation numbers and the problem was soon straightened out.

We booked several excursions from Quito prior to our Galapagos cruise on the "Infinity"... a half day tour of the city, a day-long tour out to Cotopaxi N. P. and a 3-day birding tour out to Tandayapa Bird Lodge in the cloud forest. Our guides and drivers were all excellent. In fact, our birding tour guide, Andres Vasquez Noboa "literally" wrote the book on wildlife of Ecuador!

We had done our own research to choose the boat and cruise we wanted, rather than using the agency to do so. But, Esteban got us answers for any questions we had about the boat.

I spent 8 days aboard the Calipso motor yacht and what a fantastic experience! Chef Darwin's food was fresh and gourmet quality. Our Naturalist Guide Eduardo was incredibly knowledgeable on every aspect of the Galapagos and fun to be around. The cabins with full windows were so charming and kept immaculate. Loved the different towel creatures each day! And every member of the ship crew made sure passengers were happy and safe during the excursions. Also, Lilian at the Galapagos Travel Center did a great job answering my questions and went out of her way to make sure my trip went smoothly. Finally, the Calipso is one of very few boats that does NOT charge a solo traveler extra for having their own cabin (subject to availability)! The entire trip was a dream come true for me!

I have visited the Galapagos several times before with other operators.

This is an unusual review to write because in the end we did not use their services for the Galapagos cruise and land arrangements. I organized a group of 15 passengers for a cruise in July, 2021. Needless to say, Covid 19 hit and we held onto the reservations for as long as we could because despite the vaccine, there were no assurances of its availability in the US let alone Ecuador. Though Ecuador was open for arrivals, there was no certainty that arrival conditions including quarantines would remain fixed. Thus, making travel air arrangements was unclear as well as the prospect of additional costs, and potential disruption to booked land tours in and around Quito. Travel conditions were more than cautionary including a do not cruise “directive” from the Center for Disease Control in the United States. Reluctantly, the group of 15 decided to cancel. The presence of Covid 19 was the as the cause of the cancellation.

We understood the cancellation penalties when making the booking, but were hopeful that Galapagos Travel Center in light of the Covid 19 circumstances would either work with us by reducing the penalty or allowing a credit towards a future booking as we were looking to rebook for July 2022 understanding that the prices would be different. They were unyielding and penalized the group the customary charge of 10% or nearly $6000. This was most disappointing.

That said, as the group organizer I was concerned all along that the company would go bankrupt as many have and default on their financial obligations to us. They did not and quickly refunded the deposit less the penalties. I am especially grateful to Elizabeth Clavijo for finalizing the cancellation including the refund of the funds and her clear and prompt communication. Also appreciate the work done by the original reservationist, Magus who is no longer with the company.
The group will rebook when ready and will consider Galapagos Travel Center when rebooking, but the sting of the penalty will remain in our minds when it is time to rebook. Had they offered some type of compromise, it would be a no brainer as we would stick with them.

Gabriela Aguilar helped us plan a perfect trip to see the Galapagos penguins. The guide and crew of the Petrel were amazing on our 6 day Isabela cruise, with new wildlife adventures daily. Finch Bay Resort was National Geographic unique experience. Otovalo tour guide was intelligent and knowledgable. From the time our plane landed in Guayaquil to the time we left Quito, friendly English speaking drivers met us on time at every transfer.
