What an exciting birding day through Mindo with the add-on of the Andean Cock-of-the-Rock Lek! Santiago was a wonderful guide knowledgeable about everything from the birds to the volcanoes, and much more. We saw so many species on our list and the spots offered excellent photography opportunities as well. If you can only choose one day trip with Neotropical- this is the trip! Thank you Neotropical for a wonderful trip!

I was really an adventure. Santiago, our guide, is a great person with huge knowledge about birds. Everything was well organized, and the service was worth the money. Thank you once again.

This was my second daytrip with Neotropical. I had spent an awesome day at Zuroloma Reserve, so I decided to fill my last remaining few hours in Ecuador with another Neotropical daytrip to Chakana Reserve, with the trip adapted to get me to my airport check-in on time. My guide picked me up really early to drive up into the mountains. We went right up into Condor country and spent a couple of relaxed , peaceful hours up on the hill tops watching about 15 condors soaring and landing on a nearby carcass.. Thanks to Santiago Molina's (there are 2 Santiagos in this small company!!!) amazing spotting skills we saw 4 bears, a mum with 2 cubs foraging and separately, a young male sleeping. Santiago is an ecologist who divides his life between tour leading and bear conservation projects and was fascinating to talk to. He was also very thoughtful and had prepared plenty of packed food and coffee as my schedule didn't give time for meal stops. We were lucky with the weather, so had great views, but this trip was exceptional mainly down to the skill and personality of the guide and the locations chosen by this company. I can't thank Santiago and Neotropical enough!!

My trip to Zuroloma was organised at short notice after another tour company let me down. They actually did me a big favour as otherwise I would not have found Neotropical and my amazing guide, Santiago Salazar. Zuroloma was set up very well with a sheltered viewing platform next to feeders attracting an amazing number and variety of species, mainly hummingbirds with a stunning backdrop . We spent much of the day at the feeders and then went for a short hike in the hills. Santiago's identification skills are excellent but he was also great company and good to chat to (and very patient with my Spanish which I wanted to try). I can't speak highly enough of this experience.
