Enjoyed my private hiking tour of Cerro Provincia with Nicolás. Nicolás was a knowledgeable guide and shared a lot of interesting information about the trees plants and animals in the area. The hike was enjoyable and challenging but also very rewarding, a nice hike near Santiago.

Thank you very much for your kind words and reccommending the hike to the top of Provincia mount. which is uptually one of my favorits nearby Santiago. This is not a technically dificult hike, nevertheless it demand some effort for expeding 5 hours to reach it summit (4 hours for the return aprox.) which offer an amazing view to the city and the imposing Andes at the back. Wish you all the best and thanks again for your review, Michael!

I went on a tour with Nicolas and originally we were supposed to go to monumento Morado. However the road was closed due to the danger of an avalanche. Nicolas gave me 3 options: 1) take the same tour for free any other day, 2) refund the money, 3) go to a beautiful hime starting near Colorado River. I only had one day to do the hike so I was happy to have option number 3! Nicolas had to think fast and arrange things on short notice. He took me to a beautiful location and I enjoyed an 8.9 mile hike up and down the mountain with beautiful views of the snow covered picks and even one of the volcanoes. Hike was fun, well timed and really nicely paced. We had stops to rest, for pictures or just to enjoy the view. We enjoyed a simple lunch that tasted delicious since we were super hungry! I would highly recommend taking a tour with Coigue Expeditions. My day that started in disappointment was turned into a wonderful hike and memorable experience that I would remember for a long time!

Many thanks and I will go on another one of your tours if I am back in Chile!

Hello Alla. We are very happy you had a great Andes experience with us. Unfortunaly, for the day of the tour it was a landslide at the intended destination. But this wasnt a problem because we had a great hike in another destination. On this hike we visit El Manzano Caves, experience we already upload as a new andean experience through Trip Advisor. So now, we invite all adventures to explore together this amazing natural wonder.

I went on this tour with Nicolas as my guide and it was an awesome day of snow shoeing! He was extremely knowledgeable and passionate about the mountains and seemed to know exactly how to let me go at my own pace without letting me slack off too much. It was a massive day of stunning views, amazing natural colours, laughter and knowledge sharing. Also, 11 hours was (somehow) the perfect estimation for duration - I was back in my hotel at 6 24pm after leaving at 7 29am.

I was lucky to find Nicolas' company on trip adviser. We love hiking and mountains and Nicolas put together the most perfect custom tour for my wife, myself and the couple we were travelling with. In spite of my internet searching I had trouble figuring out where to best hike nearby to Santiago, but Nicolas made suggestions, gave options and put it all together - great for us given we live thousands of miles away and don't speak Spanish.
Nicolas picked the 4 of us up from our Santiago hotel and drove us to what I'd consider one of the best hikes I've ever been on (beaten only by Torres del Paine and El Cheltan). We had bright sun and a perfect day for our 16 km hike up to El Morino Hanging glacier (800 m elevation gain). We had the trail and mountain to ourselves, making it even more perfect. Not wanting to waste time driving back to the city, Nicolas found a quaint moutain lodge for us to stay (he even made the reservations for us). Next day, we set off to hike to San Fransisco glacier - another out of this world hike.
I should note that finding the trail heads would have not been possible for us, requiring challenging driving up steep dirt roads in Nicolas' trusty 4x4. These 2 perfect days were topped off by a dip in the natural hot springs and a bottle of wine looking over the valley!!!
We are vegan's, and although I mentioned this to him, I had little expectation. Again, he went above and beyond. Nicolas supplied lunch and snacks and all the ice cold water we could drink (and made sure that all the restaurants/hotels we went to were vegan friendly)
In addition to hiking we wanted to see Valparaiso. Nicolas found a trusted tour guide there and drove us back and forth from Santiago for a great day trip. He arranged lunch at a fabulous restaurant overlooking the harbour. It was an amazing day. Initially, I had been told by others to give Valparaiso a pass - not true - make the time to go see it.
I had forgotten to bring some items on our trip, so on the way back to our hotel, Nicolas took us on a side trip to his favourite sporting goods store (it was fabulous and had all we needed).
So, we spent some 12 hours a day with Nicolas, for 3 days straight. We felt so comfortable and safe with Nicolas. He was so kind and thoughtful and went out of his way to make our experience perfect.
I have been to a lot of countries and been on a lot of tours. I'd put Nicolas planning and organization and personality right at the top!!! I give Nicolas my very highest rating.

We were looking for a full day active adventure before leaving Santiago to spend a week hiking on Easter Island. Prior to leaving home we searched several options and were intrigued by the Coigue Expeditions website and reviews. We emailed and expressed interest in the Darwin's route and Pacific Coast Gardens, Juncal and Morado hikes, and said that we wanted to spend the day hiking, but weren't acclimated or in shape for a long climb. Gabriel responded promptly and suggested that Darwin's route best fit our objective. We were picked up at our hotel by guide Nicolas and driver promptly at 7:30 AM, made the 1.5 hour drive north to the park and started our hike. The first part is an uphill hike through the Chilean palm forest on the coastal side of the mountain. Since it was morning the coastal fog was still present and lifted as we reached the highest point on the hike and had our lunch. The downhill portion was entirely different as the forest on the inland side is Santiago Oak. Along the way we saw the giant hummingbird. We got back to our hotel about 6:30 PM. It was a perfect day. We were entirely satisfied and so arranged with Nicolas to do the Pacific Coast Gardens hike upon our return from Easter Island.

I booked this tour solo so went alone with one of the Coigue guids (Sebastian). I booked it via email and they replied quickly and correctly. Furthermore, they made sure I was well prepared (brought sun glasses, hiking boots and so on). The guide spoke perfect English. He was not very talkative but nice and friendly and the owner also called during the trekking to check whether everything was okay. The trekking was very nice. If your fit it is not too difficult, if you are not fit, it might be tough.. It was a fantastic sunny day, clear blue skies, while the mountain was still partly covered with snow. I loved the silence up in the mountains. The views were amazing, as well as the condors I spotted.

I went on my own to climb up to Mt. Leonera outside of Santiago. Nicolas was very conscientious, organized, and easy to communicate with. He was one of the best guides I have ever used in my travels. He was well prepared for any kind of event that could happen while trekking, including the weather. He did a fantastic job with all matters of planning from the first email contact to when he picked me up at my hotel. I cannot imagine anyone else in Santiago doing a better job than his company did. Highly recommended!

There was an incredible reddish sunset light over Mt El Plomo, strong winds by night and then a bit of snow in the morning. Now is raining in Santiago and the winter season is just starting. The mountains never look the same twice! Thanks a lot for your review on our two days hiking tour, we are flattered. It was great to meet you. Best, The Coigüe Team

Great hiking experience while at Cerro de La Campana. Nicolás is a great friendly guide. Looking for a trekking beyond the ordinary? Coigue is your alternative and visit the Chilean Palm Forest - UNESCO biosphere reserve.

Thoroughly recommend coigueexpeditions! We were met by Nicholas and m. They came a bit later so we could eat breakfast in our hotel. We had a really great day with Nicholas as our guide :) the expedition itself was beautiful with breathing taking views. We were a bit worried that we were not going to be able to see much as it is autumn but Nicholas had an impressive and extensive knowledge of the plants along the way, we saw some wildlife and the views were amazing so we really didn't need to worry! My mum was very interested in knowing the names of all the birds and animals and Nicholas patiently spelled out each one for her. Very fair price for such a great day. The journey back just felt like a bunch of friends coming back from a hike. Reasons to choose this company: professional yet really personable service with quick responses to emails, informative and great website, brilliant treks that are incredibly only available with coigueexpeditions. Decision made ;)
