I recommend you buy tickets for 1 movie in the full dome theatre.
You and your kids will enjoy it.
You'll also find short guided tours of the stars and planets and some activities for the younger ones.
There are free peaking lot and some fast-food tracks at the entrance.

In chile we dont have many of this sort of activities, the planetary of stgo is a must if your a local or a foreigner. Its located around 10 mins away from the main square and walking distance from the central station.
The suburb it self can be a bit rough but during the day there is not much to worry about.
The entrance cost around 10 bucks and its worth it ... specially on a raining day.

This place can be visited by young and old thanks to its affordable price , since it has even discounts for students. It has more than 50 constellations, planets and shows together , which is present per season.

If you like watching stars on the sky and wonder what they are or the shapes they form, then go visit this simple planetario located in Santiago. It is not that expensive and you will enjoy for an hour the starlight giving you an introduction to fun astronomy. :)

We really enjoyed this planetarium. The videos and sky display were impressive, even though I do not speak Spanish. The exhibits outside the theater were few but well done. I particularly liked the information on the Elqui Valley star gazing options, which was better and more expansive than anything I had found trying to do research for the trip.

It is in a very dense part of town, my husband and very experienced traveler lost his phone to a pick pocket we knew was targeting us but still could not get away from.

The planetarium was similar to what you will find in the US. The seats were very comfortable, the air conditioning was good, and the show was very interesting. It is on a college campus, so you can walk around campus before or after.
