Professional, stress free tour experience.
My husband and I visited Chile for work and had a couple of days free. We wanted a private tour experience and Private tours Santiago didn't disappoint. Esteban was very helpful in recommending the adequate tours.
We did on our first day, El Cajon del Maipo and visited the "Valle de la Engorda" We were greeted by our tour guide Benjamin at our hotel lobby in Santiago at 8 am sharp. Our driver Brian and his contagious laugh made our trip more than enjoyable and relaxing.
After a nice drive through the city with no traffic because it was a holiday( Honestly didn't see much traffic on a regular day in Santiago) , we arrived a charming road side cafe where we picked up our picnic lunch, a bathroom break and had a nice coffee and cake as part of the tour. On our route to the Andes Mountains, we got to see winding roads, mountains and a river with rapids. We arrived at the parking lot where we met many goats on their way to feed for the day. The trek was ok, but a bit challenging, we were honestly not well prepared, I recommend that you take a walking stick. Luckily we found a piece of bamboo.
The views are breathtaking, we met a group of horses carrying goods for campers and their dogs. after a 45 or so minutes trek up hill, we arrived at el valle de la engorda and I can only described it as "magical" like you died and arrived at Paradise.... There were wild horses, goats, a field green with small purple and yellow flowers and birds that come right next to you :) pictures can not describe that feeling. We had a yummy picnic with wine and fresh juice at a clearing with horses and goats.
The following day we visited Valparaiso and had a walking tour taking pictures of murals and took the funicular up and down the hill. Visited briefly Vina del Mar and had tasty lunch at a castle by the sea, on our way back we stopped at a boutique winery were we had a very interesting tour and a taste of their fine wines.
If you want a private tour experience at a good price, I definitely recommend this company. As a bonus Brian took his drone and sent us 3 gorgeous videos of our visit. A fantastic way to share our experience with friends and family. Thank you to Benjamin and Brian for spending two days with us showing us around their beautiful country Chile!

Ben (the guide) and Brian (the driver) gave us two terrific days of tours while we had a short stopover in Santiago. First, we had a good look at the city, including the Museum of Memory and Human Rights, downtown including the Moneda Palace and Constitution Square, Pablo Neruda's house La Cascona and finally a funicular and cable car up a hill with panoramic views. On the second day, we visited two Long-established wineries near Santiago. Ben and Brian made it all fun and were helpful in very possible way.

Two couples arranged 3 day tours with Privatetours in Santiago Chile and we were delighted! Pre-arrival coordination was excellent so we knew what was expected each day and were provided updates on demonstrations in Chile Payment details were clear and smooth. We also had specific need for larger van for large men and cruise luggage, limited climbing and long distance walking and winery focus. Tour van far exceeded size expectations and was luxurious. Pickup was easy and both tour guide Ben and driver Brian were part time sommeliers and fantastic! We visit a lot of wineries and initially asked for specific well known wineries in Santiago. Our hosts were ready to take us where we asked but recommended more interesting and less crowded wineries which we thoroughly enjoyed! Glad we listened! First day tour included pickup at airport, return to Santiago, tour of Santiago highlights, fabulous lunch at seafood market, more city tour and then and drop off at hotel at afternoon check-in time. Next day we toured Valparaiso and Vina del Mar. Stopped by to visit a Easter Island Moai outside local museum. Museo Fonck looked interesting so host modified schedule and we added it on the spot! Also did Chilean Naval Museum, Seaside heights lunch, funicular railway and then Casablanca Valley Bodega RE. RE winery was small but very interesting because they use ancient way of making wine in large clay pots. Tasting included awesome both in size and taste charcuterie plate. Winery also makes noteworthy balsamic vinegar! Third day we wanted time alone to explore city and enjoyed heading to farmers market on subway and seeing largest shopping center in South America, huge by American standards! Last day was later pickup, tour and excellent private tasting at Matetic Vineyards, followed by wonderful lunch at Matetic Restaurant which is on large sprawling winery that spreads for miles! Drop off at ship for cruise was on time and smooth! The tours were extremely well done and we thoroughly enjoyed the guide’s sense of humor and care. We all highly recommend this company for similar tours in Santiago!

I highly recommend Private Tours - easy to work with, stress-free logistics, and great service from the office staff, the guide and the driver. We used them during our trip to Chile in January 2020.

A great example of their service: when we were picked up from our hotel in Valparaiso, we had hoped to stop once more at an art store in town. But it did not open on time, and we thought we might miss out since we had a schedule to keep. But our guide Jeanette managed to locate the owner by phone and got someone to open the store for us! We got everything we wanted and stayed on schedule.

More info: We used Private Tours to arrange our time in the Santiago and Valparaiso area. Esteban was our agent: he offered great advice, made it easy to book the trip, and stayed in touch until we arrived. After arriving in Santiago, we met our guide Jeanette and driver Felipe, who took good care of us over two days. We did the city tour of Santiago, and two winery tours. And they did drop off and pick up to Valparaiso.

During our day tour in Santiago, Jeanette gave us a great feel for the city sights and dining (coffee with legs! empanadas!). Since we were there during the time of demonstrations, Jeanette helped us understand the situation in the country, and made us feel completely safe. And we had such a fun day at the wineries in Casablanca valley.

Overall, a wonderful experience thanks to the team at Private Tours!

We had a lengthy layover at Santiago airport before a late night red-eye flight. We thought we would use the time to get a brief intro to Santiago via Private Tours.

Our tour guide JP and driver Franco were waiting at arrivals with a well-demarcated sign. They provided us with an excellent 5 hour tour throughout the different parts of the city with a nice mixture of both driving and walking. They even let us customize the tour to experience a nice dinner out in Santiago before dropping us back at the airport in plenty of time for our flight. Overall a great experience and highly recommended.

Our group of 4 had a 12 hour wait between cruise disembarkation in San Antonia and flying back to the USA. From our first contact with Esteban in setting the itinerary through the end of the tour airport drop off, every aspect of the tour was handled with thorough professionalism. Our guide, Jeanette, and driver, Brian, were conscientious and considerate throughout. Jeanette’s perspectives and background in journalism brought a dimension to the tour that elevated it beyond our expectations. Very highly recommend this organization.

We arrived at night and Cristóbal met us at the airport to transport us to the hotel. Both Cristóbal and the driver were warm and welcoming and the vehicle was comfortable and immaculately clean for our family of three.

The next morning we had a day long private tour of Santiago with Cristóbal. He was prompt for the hotel pickup and it already felt like a longtime friend was meeting up with us.

Our college-age daughter did a huge research project on the Pinochet era in school and our primary wish was to have a guide who was knowledgable on the subject. The highlight of our day was a morning visit to the Museum of Memory and Human Rights. Cristóba was extremely versed on the subject and provided us with a very informative tour. Much of the museum was in Spanish, he clearly explained the exhibits to us in his excellent English and expertly answered all our questions.

We love to try local cuisine when traveling. Cristóbal accompanied us to one of his favorite neighborhood restaurants, Galindo, where we sampled empanadas and he introduced us to Pastel de chocio, and Platada con agregado. Lunch was a fun and relaxing time to be surrounded by locals and ask Cristóbal questions about Chili's culture, lifestyle, economics, and current events. We enjoyed his friendly and kind personality as he interacted with us and the restaurant staff.

During the afternoon Cristóbal designed an itinerary to visit all the major government buildings, monuments, churches, and cultural highlights on our list. Based on his accurate reading of our interest, he worked in other sites along our walk that he felt we would enjoy, we even had a refreshing Copihue break on the warm day. Cristóbal was knowledgable on everything we saw, we never felt rushed, and he even made sure to take photos of us along the way.

At the end of the day, we felt lucky to have experienced Santiago though the warmhearted eyes of this well informed local guide!

I'm in Santiago de Chile for a Business Trip with limited time to visit. I contacted Private Tours Santiago and they organized two day-tours. On the 1st day I did a city tour in the morning and visited an amazing vineyard in the afternoon (Odfjell Vineyards, located in Maipo Valley). On the next day I went to Viña del Mar & Valparaíso. The van was clean and comfortable and the tour guide was excellent and fluent in English. I truly recommend them since they are very responsive and coordinated everything for me.

We were in Santiago for a couple nights and wanted to do a city tour before flying onward to Punta Arenas on our way to Antarctica. I was in contact with Estaban and we messaged back and forth and he was able to work it out and get us set up on a private tour on very short notice. Ben and his driver picked us up right on time from the airport hotel. We were able to get a good overview of the city and spend time at Cristobal Hill as well as the huge Metropolitan park including a ride on the cable car. You can see for miles from the top of the park, just some great views. We definitely would not have been able to manage all of this on our own. Ben was an all around great guide. We saw everything we wanted to see. This tour made our day. Well worth the money for us.
