Club Hipico de Santiago is a thoroughbred horse racing track in Santiago. It was opened in 1870 and is Chile's oldest racetrack and is one of Chile's three main tracks. It is a beautiful course measuring 12 furlongs and is landscaped with gardens, fountains and ponds. Although we didn't visit when racing was on, it was still lovely to view from the outside and you could still feel and envisage the excitement of a race day. The main club house was replaced in 1920 after the original was burnt down. The building very much reflects the grandeur of the time. Well worth a visit, but try to go on a race day.

This is a first rate racecourse with great races and amenities. I suggest you walk around the track and visit the stables. The workers tending the horses are more than welcome to talk to visitors.

Club Hipico was opened in 1870 and is home to South America's oldest stakes race, the Clasico El Ensayo which is held in late October/early November. The original club house was burnt down and replaced in the early 1920s. The current buildings reflect the grandeur of the times. Chile's main racecourse is still very active, so if you are interested in horse racing, why not attend a meeting here?

A really good place for this kind of events, like Electronic Festivals, i can't say it was excelent because of the dust in the air when people started jumping, it was annoying.
I would definitely go there again for a festival like this but maybe with another company in charge of it.

Love this track! Great racing, beautiful and historic track and very friendly people. As I haven't wagered at Spanish speaking tracks before, betting was tricky, didn't make any exotic bets. Remember win = ganador and place = segundo never figured out show.:)

We visited as part of a tour on a Sunday, unfortunately there was no racing on this day. Looks a nice race course.

Emblematic place to enjoy equestrianism and also history. Its facilities are clean, the staff's attention is gentle and at least, the whole time we were there, you see a highly recommended place to go with family, children and share.
