- ravi sBoston, Massachusetts86 contributionsGood for some serious walkingA friend suggested a long walk in this park on the west side of Santiago. In the end I walked from Mirador Piramide to the Japanese Garden. A long walk, but a good way to work off jet lag. It's not hard, but allow several hours. The park is beautiful, with awesome views of the city and the mountains beyond.Visited September 2023Traveled soloWritten November 24, 2023

The roads themselves wind all over the park. Full of locals enjoying exercise at weekends. Make sure you have water as the kiosks/cafes are quite far apart. The busiest part is the south which ends up having a different name (Metropolitano). Good viewing points when you reach the top. You cannot get a condola etc to this the northern aspect.Visited January 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten January 24, 2024

Make sure you're wearing some sneakers with good grip if you plan on taking any dirt paths.. if they're dry they can be slippery. We took the cable car up to see Santuario inmaculada concepcion.. I'm so glad we did as the hike back down was a trek in itself. It pays to also be aware of passing cyclists and runners as many come to exercise here. Some amazing views to take in as well.. choose a clear day to go if you can.Visited April 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten April 23, 2024

This park offers you a nice view of Santiago. It is a city Oasis where you can spend your free time enjoying the view, the green, you can have something to drink or just watch the kids playing. On top is a religious sanctuary and a small, but really nice church. Funicular takes you up&down, or just one way. Ticket van be bought from Delicatto shop or ticket machine. Up&down costs 3.850 pesos (aprox. 4 euro)

The park is very beautiful and organized, there is the funicular ride and then the cable car. With beautiful views of the city and with excellent serviceall staff. The cable car is also organized and a great way to cross the city from the Pio Nono region to Pedro Valdivia.

This park is 100 years old and is a super place to spend time if you wish to escape the bustle of downtown Santiago.
It’s much busier at the weekend than during the week.
The funicular is a fun way to the top where you have fabulous views over the whole of Santiago. There are cafes and shops at the top, serving the local drink of barley & dried peaches. It’s really popular and super sweet.
You can then either take the bubble car or funicular down or walk down. It’s a lovely walk out the back of the park down the designated path. Again, great views and you pass a lovely open air swimming pool and the fabulous Japanese Gardens. You could go to the bottom in the bubble car and it’s then a simple walk to the metro passing a super modern shopping mall on the way – great to dive into for their aircon and a drink if it’s a hot day!
There is also a zipwire and climbing area at the bottom of the bubble car.
And if you need some exercise - power walk up!

Park open to the public for free. Quite frequented by tourists and also by locals. You can come in with food and drink. You can enter by bicycle, skates, small sound devices, pets. You can take a little walk as well as stay all day having fun with a picnic, for example. It gives access to the Cerro de San Cristobal - at the top of the mountain: it is possible to climb by foot, by funicular and by cable car (there pay - I recommend to arrive before 10:00 to not get in line in the purchase). Free bathrooms at the cable station and at the base.

Delicious tour! The view from every point in the park is beautiful. I went with an elderly woman and getting on and off the cable car was very peaceful. The snack bar at the entrance to the park (the cable car exit to the ProvidĂŞncia neighborhood) has a wonderful empanada (I had it with mushrooms and cheese).

It is one of the most touristic spots in Santiago and to our surprise it is totally unserviced. The place is not outstanding, but is interesting to walk up the hill through the paths and enjoy the great views from the top, where there is also a nice stone chapel. But it is dangerous, an young american couple was attacked, all their belongings stolen, he got a broken nose. The guy was bleeding and no one was able to help him at all. Nobody speaks english. We gave him a hand, helping them translate to the guards what have happened, but I had to start making a big fuzz so they could get medical aid. All that was available was a security company car that took them to the police station and would then take them to the hospital. No services on site, in one of the most visited places in town, no ambulance, no police, no english or any other language spoken for tourists. Not worth the risk at all.

One of the most beautiful, well maintained parks I've ever visited in South America. My boyfriend and I took the funicular up to the top of Cerro San Cristobal (3000 pesos/person) and opted to walk down the rest of the way. The paths are clearly marked and there were spacious walking lanes along most of the roads so we never felt fearful of cars and bikes making their way up and down the mountain. On the way down, there are plenty of scenic views to enjoy as well as mini parks, statues and other interesting sites along the way. In total, it took less than an hour to make it all the way down. A great way to spend a few hours and escape the bustle of the city!

esta aberto em 1 de janeiro?

Bom dia.
Eu minha esposa e filho de 6 anos fomos num domingo cedo. O Funicular inicia as 10h.

Portanto, o parque e o funicular funcionam normalmente.
