My wife and I visited the Bellas Artes museum in December 2016. The museum was free without an admission cost. The building is a beautiful Bell Arts design with a mansard roof. It is in the classical style. The central courtyard is under a huge...More

Works of Diego Rivera and David Siqueiros on show: leftist artists and a small exhibition with a 'gay' theme. Chili is fast becoming one of the more progressive countries in Latin America. Moreover the building, especially its interior is a pleasurable experience.

Museo du Nacional du Bella's Artes Our fourth visit to Santiago and we finally make an opportunity to visit the National Museum.  A beautiful museum, free admission, secure lockers to store your 'carry-on bag' guides if needed and then it's off to several floors of...More

Lovely interiors and exterior architecture of the building. More so than the art collections or the sculptures ( bar one which was Jesus Christ with his mother Mary and Mary Magdalena and the two apostles.... brilliant piece of sculpture ). Some thought provoking art on...More

The art inside is a mixed bag. Some old pieces mixed in with some contemporary and then one current exhibit is all nudes with mostly a gay subject matter. For adults it is fine but wanted to forewarn those families with kids! Price is free!

For a gallery with a reputation I would have expected more. The 'modern art' wing was uninspiring while the more traditional section houses works that were disappointing. Wouldn't waste the time going.

The building itself if magnificent, but the collection is weak with the exception of some contemporary works.

I like the building more than the collection, nice stop for an hour or so to escape the hot sun. I enjoyed the temporary exhibition from José Pedro Godoy.

Built in the image of Paris' Petit Palais this museum is lively, full if light. Excellent temporary exhibits of modern tapestries, and Mapuche spiritual ceremonies photographs from early 19th century. An interesting way to exhibit their permanent collection -- men on the left, women on...More
