About
Founded in 1856, Cousino Macul is the only winery in Chile amongst those established in the 19th century that continues in the hands of the original founding family. The company remains 100% under family control, producing limited quantities of fine wines. The mission of Cousino Macul is to produce world-class wines that are unmistakably Chilean, carrying the distinctive character of the Maipo Valley.

- Crisleide CrosaraSao Bernardo Do Campo, SP1,100 contributionsWe did the tour "El día del amor" prepared especially for Valentine's Day. We started with a welcome rosé, followed by the guide Diego to learn about the history and dependencies of this centuries-old winemaker. During the journey we tasted some wines and were presented with a violinist while we knew the cellar. At the end, an outdoor space was prepared to enjoy the view of the mountain range at sunset, with wine, a mini grazing box and the sound of the violin.Visited February 2025Traveled as a coupleWritten February 18, 2025
- Paula D1 contributionWe did the Sunset Tour and it was just amazing. The guide Cleiton is Brazilian, helped us understand everything, since the Tour is in Spanish. He in addition to knowing a lot about history and being quite charismatic made everyone feel very welcome. The wines are delicious and the picnic with cheeses and fruits prepared for each group in a personalized way is special and without rush, makes a difference for us to contemplate the mountains lying on the grass. I loved too much and was worth the trip, stay careful, we went to Uber.Visited January 2025Traveled as a coupleWritten January 31, 2025
- Venture554683Florida56 contributionsI booked the premium experience which included a tour where you taste 4 wines as you go and then finished with a tasting of three more wines. This was by far the best wine tour I’ve ever had. I loved learning about the history of the winery and all the innovation over the years as well as about the wine making. Our guide was phenomenal. If you want to learn about wine, this tour is for you! Up charge to the premium experience and you won’t regret it.Visited September 2024Traveled soloWritten September 29, 2024
- pilarabi5 contributionsBeautiful vineyard! Take the bike tour. The guide was very friendly and explained a lot about the history of the vineyard, the way of wine production and about each type of wine. The vineyard itself is very cute and has an impressive history. It was a beautiful experience. In addition, it is one of the few vineyards that you can go on your own (we went by subway from the center of Santiago de Chile) and that helps to go whenever you want and is also cheaper than a tour. The wines there are cheaper and there are also some exclusive lines. It's really worth going!Visited July 2024Traveled with friendsWritten July 8, 2024
- Claudinei JulioSalto de Pirapora, SP10 contributionsThe vineyard is close to the center of Santiago and if you know how to ride a bike, take this tour, because it is an indiscriminate feeling to bike through the vineyard, with the mountain range in the background. Apart from knowing the history of the vineyard and the whole process of making the wines at that time, they still have some decorative objects from that time (remembers much Game Of Thrones) I confess that I did not pay much attention because the scenery and the wines leaving me stunned kkkk!! Guides are super friendly speak in Portuguese, worth seeingVisited December 2024Traveled soloWritten January 7, 2025
- MarialeSantiago, Chile19 contributionsA very nice and rewarding experience, better quality than the popular Concha y Toro, has a nice and super maintained facilities without breaking with antiquity, the structures are more welcoming, the guides are excellent, we got a French winemaker based in Chile and the passion with which he told us every detail was super nice and the history of the vineyard. The vineyard can walk and has super cozy spaces, the view of the mountain range spectacularly accompanies the enclosure. Definitely better value for moneyVisited August 2024Traveled with friendsWritten August 21, 2024
- LaisCampinas, SP4 contributionsIt was the best visit to the winery we made in Santiago. The family history is presented alongside the wine tasting. Very interesting and with a lot of content. The tour was presented by a Sommelier of the house and our doubts were answered with substance. We took the premium tour with pairing. I highly recommend it. The group, which was already small, became even more select and we received exclusive attention. In addition to the wines being delicious and different. The place is beautiful and has a perfect view of the mountain ranges, as well as being easy to access.Visited June 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten June 18, 2024
- Taís DBBrasilia, DF308 contributionsI did the traditional tour in Portuguese and found it very running. I made it on my last day of travel and had already visited 2 other wineries, this was the only one that did not pass in the parreiras, the explanation of the story is made very quickly, along with the wine tasting. It's not bad, but I missed more details and a more specific explanation regarding each label served, as it accented in the other wineries I visited. Regarding the wines, all exceptional, wonderful!Visited July 2024Traveled with familyWritten August 17, 2024
- MaySao Paulo, SP60 contributionsWe had the great pleasure of visiting this vineyard! I had an unexpected when booking the traditional tour through the site and they promptly helped me solve by Whats, were sensational! The script is very interesting and besides the delicious wines the whole history of the place was also to attract attention, especially about Isidora Goyenechea.Visited January 2025Traveled as a coupleWritten January 3, 2025
- Vanessa D1 contributionI opted for the Autumn tour available for these days when I am closing my vacation and already with a low budget. The option exceeded my expectations. Great tastings, incredible temperature of the wines served. Simple tour, most totally pleasant. Interesting data provided by Valentina, the guide, about the layout of this vineyard in terms of the microclimate, the old vines and their impact as ecological as possible on the crop. Perfect group, few people. The visit to the Cousiño Palace encouraged us to learn more about the history and wonders of this family.Visited April 2024Traveled with friendsWritten April 18, 2024

This was an excellent wine tour. The grounds and cellar are beautiful and it is easily reachable from the center of Santiago by Uber or even metro/bus.
Janis lead the tour and was very passionate and knowledgeable about the history, wines, etc. I really appreciated her as a guide!
I would definitely recommend the premium tour for a pairing with some food bites, and additional context, of their more high end wines. The first part was with the more general group but it is longer and worth it for the premium, not that much more. I was the only one in the larger group who did, so my extra time was private with the Janis, the group guide, who carefully explained the wines, pairing, and her personal observations and preferences, which added to the experience.
Wine pours were generous and wines of very good quality. Loved it! Appreciated that we can keep the glass too!

We were really lucky to have Valentina to guide us through a tasting. She took us on a quick tour of the buildings (which was not included in the tasting we paid for) and guided us through the wines in the right level of detail. The wines were very nice and provided a good range. The vineyard is incredibly accessible from the city centre taking only 45 minutes by public transport. Recommended to those on a budget and wanting to do a DIY tour or those with little time available to reach the Maipo valley

Valentina was amazing! We accidentally misread the arrival time for the English tour but everyone was extremely accommodating and they arranged for us to have a private wine tasting instead for a very fair price of 18,000 pesos.
For the wine tasting, we were guided by Valentina who was amazing. She took her time talking us through everything and even tailoring some of the wines to our preferences. She went out of her way to also show us the cellars and tell us about some of the information we missed from the tour. Thank you so much!

This tour was wonderful! The guide (Janice) was so personable and made it so fun! We have been on a lot of winery tours, but this one had the most interesting history and little museum attached with the tour to spin a wonderful tale that we all lost track of the time! What a great way to spend an afternoon in Santiago on a layover (or just to hang out)!!
Cheers! Everything was wonderful!

Lovely, quick visit outside of Santiago. For 18k CLP we had a tour with 4-5 tastings. Valentina was a great guide! There is no food on-site, but a cafe that’s a 5 minute walk away if you need a snack before.

We walked in without a reservation and ended up doing a tasting with Cynthia. She spoke perfect English and taught us more about wine than I had ever learned in previous tastings in the US. She also took extra time to show us around the property and let us experience extra wines, which were not originally included. I am more than impressed with her knowledge and passion, as well as the beauty of the property. A truly above and beyond tour and our best experience in Santiago by far.

We took the bike tour, which consists of a quick tour of the property (about 25 minutes) and then a tour of the facilities along with a wine tasting. In addition to explaining the production of the wines, the guide Eric was able to explain very well about the history of the family that owns the winery. Book via website and pay on site. Easy to get to Quilin station by metro and from there take an Uber. It was a very pleasant experience, I highly recommend it.

We thoroughly enjoyed this tour led by charming Isabela (originally from Venezuela). While we had an opportunity to taste a number of great white, rose and red wines along the way during the tour, in reality, this is more a winery museum and a story about the Cousiño family who have owned it continuously since its founding in 1856. As we have now been on a number of wine tours and tastings, this was a fabulous change. The story particularly highlights the accomplishments of Isidora, the young widow of the second generation of the family, who ran both the winery and the mining operations of one of Chile’s most prominent and wealthy families in the second half of the 19th century. We highly recommend this tour, in part, because it is so accessible from the center of Santiago (metro to Quilin station and then taxi or Uber for the short distance to the site of the winery).

Wonderful experience! We did the bike tour with Carla and it exceeded our expectations. The bike portion was very short to see the vines and a small part of the estate. Then we toured the historical part of their processing, bottling and storage while tasting 5 wines. We loved it! So interesting and beautiful with a variety of wine. Would definitely come back for a tour again!

Our day at Viño Cousiño Macul was exceptional and most enjoyable. Our host, Valentina, was very knowledgeable and explained everything during our tour.
The wines we tasted were also exceptional, and included some of the best wines I’ve ever tasted. It was helpful to have a guided tasting and pairing session - again Valentina brought out the best in the wines. Going down into the cellars was quite mind blowing - a vast underground cavern that seemed to go on forever.
We bought a couple of bottles of wine to take home and look forward to sharing these with friends in England.
