A fantastic day trip out of Santiago! Our driver Pablo picked us up in a luxury VW van - which was ideal for the terrain - giving a very smooth ride. Our guide Peter gave us excellent insights as well. The El Morado valley is absolutely stunning. We had a beautiful sunny day and covered the hike up to the mineral springs that look out at the San Francisco Glacier in only 2.5 hours. The mineral water that bubbles out of the ground is effervescent and tastes exactly like sparkling mineral out of bottle. We then went another 45 minutes further up the valley to the Banos Colinas Hot Springs - which also were stunning. You soak in the aqua mineral-water thermal pools looking out at the gorgeous mountain scenery. The first pool we tried was a bit too hot, but the next one was perfect! One of the best tourist outings I have done!

I can't say enough good things about our tour of Vina Del Mar and Valparaiso with Chris Whatmore. We concluded a cruise and our flight left late that night so I booked a day tour not knowing what to expect. Our guide was friendly and considerate and fluent in English which is good because that's all we speak. Best of all he was knowledgable (without being boring) about all things "Chilean" including history, current events, wine, sports, and their culture. Also the lunch included in our tour was delicious and the restaurant was upscale and had a great city view. Chris described other tours that they provide and we would defintiely book with Santiago Tours again and Chris again.

Our guide Jorge gave us a wonderful guided tour of Valpariaso and Vina del Mar. He was very informative and knew his history of the area. He was attentive without being overbearing and was willing to go the extra mile so we could really see the real Chile.
He was punctual and a very careful driver.I would recommend him highly.

We had two tours booked with Santiago Adventures and they were both well organised and run. The first, a city tour, on our first afternoon was well organised and gave us a great insight into the city. It included a car, driver and guide and had a mix of walking as well as driving. We got a great insight into the area and we felt the people of Santiago.
The second tour was a day in the Casablanca Valley visiting 3 vineyards and including lunch. The vineyards were quite different with the Organic Emiliana our first stop. They were really firendly, well organised and the wines were fabulous. The second, Morande, had great wines but a much less organised tasting regime with little explanation on what we were trying, although that didn't stop us buying some great Pinot Grigio. The final vineyard was Casas del Bosque which was very professional with a great tour and organised tasting. Good fun. So good we bout wine from each vineyard!
Finally the highlight in the middle of this was the restaurant we went to for lunch. Casa Botha had great food, fabulous atmosphere, really laid back and the most charming owner who treated his customers so well - a real gem!

After reading all the glowing reviews, my wife and I attempted to book a tour with Santiago Adventures and were ignored. We sent an e-mail requesting a tour which went unanswered for 24 hours. We then phoned them directly and were told that they were in a meeting, but would respond to our e-mail after the meeting. Still waiting for a response and our vacation ends tomorrow. My advice; try another provider.

We were disappointed that Mr. Evans provided us such a harsh negative review of our company given the fact that we actually never confirmed a service with him and he never took a tour with us. Mr. Evans contacted us mid day on October 13 for a bike tour that he wanted to depart on the morning of October 14 - essentially giving us 6 hours to respond and organize a tour. This is not feasible given the high level of detail that goes in to organizing our tours to ensure the high level of quality we provide. Unfortunately, the problem was confounded by the fact that our entire sales staff was off site on October 13. Since Mr. Evans did not provide an alternative date and we could not respond in the six hours he allowed, our staff did not respond to him the following day. We have since updated our website to clearly state that we do not necessarily respond to requests for tours with less than 48 hours in advance. Our recommendation is to take his 1 rating with a grain of salt and book your tour with us with some anticipation.
Best regards,

Santiago Adventures took great care of us paying attention to every detail of our trip. We saw 4 very diverse vineyards in 2 days, 2 were in the Maipo Valley and 2 in the San Antonio Valley. No matter which valley the wine makers made you feel at home and allowed you to experience their passion for wine and taste the fruits of their labor. We especially enjoyed the one on one time with the winemakers exploring areas of the wineries larger groups would never get the chance to see. We enjoyed every winery we visited but in order to give you some flavor for the uniqueness of a specific winery we did enjoyed the Corcoran Gallery where Madeline Corcoran and partner/winemaker Javier Rodriquez made us feel at home: we were able to walk through their fields, taste the grapes, see how they processed the grapes and also experience their wine while enjoyed a fabulous lunch on their veranda. Even though there were only 2 of us each wine maker made us feel special.
Our driver Manuel spoke great English and made sure we did not miss any of finer points being explained about the grape, the wine making process or marketing the various wines.
We chose a 1/2 day city tour which allowed us to enjoy a few of the highlights of Santiago such as: the Presidential Palace, the fruit market, several churches, the Harley Davidson Dealership and a local empanada restaurant. We agreed however that ½ a day did not give us enough time to see such a beautiful city in any detail.
Santiago Adventures worked with our travel agent and arranged the hotel, the winery schedule and the city tour. Their driver was very knowledgeable and spoke great English. We were very satisfied with the arrangements and would recommend them to anyone considering visiting Santiago.

Our friends recommended Santiago Adventures and we couldn't have been happier with our choice to use them to take us around to local wineries in the Colchagua region.
Reto, our tour guide, took my husband and I on an amazing trip into the Chilean countryside. Although he is Swiss, his English was impeccable and he was extremely knowledgeable about Chile. The wineries they selected were outstanding. Neyen was one of the best wines we've tasted, Montes is the most beautiful winery, and Viu Manent was the best selection of wines.
Be prepared for a long day. Reto arrived a few minutes before 7:30 AM to our hotel in Santiago, and we arrived back around 8:30 or 9 PM. He provided plenty of waters and gave us history of the countryside and interesting tidbits about Chile as we traveled through picturesque hills.
The lunch the arranged at Vino Bello was beautiful and delicious--mine anyway. Although we aren't sure precisely what it caused it, I would be leery of eating food washed in the local water outside of town (i.e., my husband had a salad with lunch and had food poisoning all night/next morning). That said, Vino Bello was delectable and had the most amazing view.
Overall, it was one of our favorite things of our trip to South America and we would recommend it to anyone.

We had a short amount of time in Chile as we worked our way from Peru to Argentina and we wanted to make the most of it. I don't often go to random websites and book tours. But I did with Santiago Adventures...and felt like I had hit the jackpot from the time Leo Cuzmar our guide picked us up at the airport. He was prompt, had a great car, and an even better attitude! He said his main objective was for us to have a great time and he was good to his word. We started our site seeing early the next morning and headed from Santiago to the Chilean coastline. When something interesting presented itself...Leo did not hesitate to stop and let us take in...like the guy selling produce out of the back of horse drawn wagon on the way to Cachagua. Leo was great to talk to about Chilean history, current events, flora, fauna....you name it. The higlight of the day was our walk along the coast in Cachagua to see the penguins that live off the shore there. Leo knew the path well...which led to one of the most picturesque beaches I've ever seen...amazing flowers all along the rocky way...not to mention penguins...the first I have ever seen in the wild. We also did a half day Santiago city tour the next morning and then on to the airport...in the process we got to see the changing of the guard at the Presidential Place....and a very cool lunch at the local market. He was a master of making the most of our time...and his knowledge of the airport made our departure effortless. Thanks to Santiago Adventures and Leo...Todd and Ted

From the moment I contacted Upscape to the end of our trip, the entire experience with Upscape was wonderful. My first contact was with Manon Epie, who helped me plan the perfect 10 day trip for my family that included Colchagua and Maipo valley wineries, a few days in Santiago, and 4 days in the Atacama desert. Julio and Sergio were our driver and tour guide. They were friendly, professional, very knowledgable and gave us a perspective into Chilean life that we might not have experienced doing the trip on our own. I cannot say enough good things about Manon, Sergio, and Julio, about the fabulous 10 days in Chile, and the great time we had.

We spent five days with Carolina and Andres, our tour guide and our driver. We did a walking tour of Santiago. We visited the Museum of Pre-Colombian Art. We did a walking tour of Valparaiso, eating at Pacifico, overlooking the harbor and exploring neighborhoods with interesting art and architecture. We spent three days in wine country, staying at the wonderful Hotel Casona, going to vineyards and wineries and restaurants that we would have never found on our own. On our last day Carolina took us to Motemei, Cocina Taller in Vitacura, where we had a meal prepared exclusively for us by the chef, Patricio Caceres Perez and his wife in his workshop using all locally sourced ingredients and local Chilean wines. It was a fabulous tour. Carolina was so knowledgeable and an expert on the wines and food of Chile, and Andres, our driver was a safe and careful driver that made us feel very comfortable.

Hi,
Can you please tell me the cost per person for your trip with upscape.
Thanks!

It really depends on what you want to do. They were very good about working within our budget. We had a driver and tour guide for five days in Santiago and the Colchagua Valley. Upscape also booked our resort in the desert, though they did not accompany us there. We booked our own flights.

I want to visit the Christ of the Andes statute at the top of Uspallata Pass. Then I want to see Mt. Aconcagua which is nearby. I will need a car and driver. The car will need to have oxygen.
