We heard about this tour from a traveler in our B&B and wish we heard earlier so could have taken all three offered. The tours are free with a donation requested. There is no pressure and we were not even reminded to donate at the end. We did the market tour on a Saturday and were so glad to have a guide as it was so crowded. Our guide was a college student who was very knowledgeable and did an excellent job keeping us together. Group size is limited and requires an advance reservation (on line). We were limited to 8. No problem at the meeting place or throughout the tour as a large red umbrella is used as a landmark. Tours are offered in English and Spanish and only certain days/times.
The tour itself was to be 2 hours but lasted 3, mostly because of the crowd size. The market is fascinating, divided into four distinct areas of seafood, meats, produce, flowers. There is time to buy some produce if desired. Cherries (both types) for about $.75/ pound! This is the locals main shopping area. There is a lot of walking and you are on your feet the whole time. The tour ends at starting point but in a bar famous for Earthquake drinks - so refreshing with pineapple ice cream on top. Delicious but oh so strong.
Highly recommend this tour. It was the highlight of our Santiago visit.

I did 2 tours in Santiago. Fantastic guides, Nelai and Sergio. Both tours small, about 12 people. You either sign up or just show up and the tour starts on time. You pay what you feel worth it of what you can afford and payment is done discretly. It is a great way to discover the best highlights of the city. Excellent. I highly recommend it.

Before our visit to Santiago, I had researched enough to know some of what we wanted to see, and positive reviews convinced us to try this free (tip as you feel appropriate) walking tour. Our guide Sergio was friendly, spoke excellent English, and made sure we all could hear him. He was most informative, answered questions, and at the end of the tour gave individual recommendations. He was forthcoming about the protests and explained the graffiti, and when my husband I asked about seeing the old train station, he urged considerable caution. We appreciated his honesty. One man on our tour overheard my question and echoed Sergio's concern. His hiking pant lower pocket, with his money, had been slit from the bottom at the Central Market (which is near the train station) just the day before. We are more than happy to recommend Strawberry Tours and especially Sergio. Thank you!

We did the free walking tour in English with Sergio. He was very knowledgeable with the city and history giving lots of information and funny stories, including personal experiences.
Route and sights visited were interesting around the centre.
Definitely recommend you did this tour.

Did the walking tour yesterday with Sergio and discovered a real gem in both him as a guide and the city in general. On first impressions it seems like a typical big city with great big wide boulevards and lots of modern buildings, typical of cities anywhere but Sergio showed us a beautiful European styled city with a Chilean vibe of cafes, bars, cobbled streets and a fascinating history.
Local tours by Locals, could not put it better myself.
Best of luck guys you work hard and deserve success.

A memorable morning was had due to the passion and enthusiasm and knowledge displayed by our guide, Sergio.
He managed to join all the dots together and give us a breakdown on the contemporary issues, along with past historical events in this fascinating place. This tour is not to be missed.

We took the historical morning walk with Sergio our guide. He was incredible. So energetic and full of insight and information about Chile, its culture, its past, its people, and the situation now happening.
We had a wonderful weather day on Sunday to go around Santiago, despite the issues that are occurring. We learned so much from Sergio. He did a great job as well of managing the people and finding shade for us on this hot day to be in while he went into some of the details on what we were seeing.
He also had some great recommendations for other sites, restaurants, and more.

Sergio took us al around the center of Santiago de Chile. He spoke a very good English, was well informed
of the history and nowadays situation of the city. To make it shortwhile he told us some of his personal experiences since his first visit of the town till today having family and being resident and settled. We enjoyed every minute, thanks a lot. And last but not least: even handicapped walkers are able to walk with, as we had some in our group. I can recommend every minute.

My husband and I absolutely loved the Centro walking tour with Carlos. It was not only highly informative but also wonderfully entertaining. He did a great job providing historical facts as well as updates on current affairs and cultural happenings in Chile. The website made it easy to reserve our slots, the tour pace was great, Carlos answered any and all questions that came up, and we left feeling a deeper appreciation for the city and country. Be sure to book with them!

I did the Yungay tour with Carlos, who summarized the last four decades of Chilean politics in a super understandable way! This was my first time in Chile and first time in South America, so the explanation was very appreciated and gave me a deeper understanding of the culture here. I enjoyed the tour so much that I also booked the historical center tour with Israel, who also did a great job of explaining the colonial history of Chile, as well as providing recommendations for local places/things to eat. I appreciated that Israel was willing to share his personal contact information if people had further questions! Both tours were excellent and I walked away with so much knowledge from people who really understand the country's history. Would definitely recommend!

Do any of these tours visit Cerro San Cristobal?
Written February 28, 2019
The walking tour we did was just around the city centre, south of the Rio Mapocho. The guide did recommend the view from Cerro San Cristóbal. Several different ways to get to the top.

Hi, may I ask where can I find the tour office that I can possibly join the tour? And if I arrive city around 9 am, is it still enough time? Thank you.

¿Cuál es actualmente el precio por persona sugerido a pagar como propina por el tour?
Written May 15, 2018
Hola, tal como otros han comentado, el pago no está definido ni hay unh mínimo establecido, pero en mi caso, yo fui con mi pareja y cada uno pagó $5.000 pesos chilenos. Saludos!
