Overview
Santiago’s markets are one of the best ways to learn about everyday life in Chile’s capital city, but their sheer size and activity level can be intimidating to tackle independently. This Santiago bike tour takes you down tried-and-tested paths to reach three Santiago markets, including a prepared foods, produce, and seafood market—all while filling you in on the city’s history.

We had a wonderful bike tour with Stefano and it was the highlight of our stay in Santiago. Really enjoyable, safe and informative - we were in a group of four (just us and another couple) and Stefano spoke to us in both English and Spanish which was brilliant. He worked so hard and is clearly very passionate about Chilean history, politics and culture. Would 100% recommend to anyone.

Our group was excited to take the 2:30 bike tour of Santiago. I had a confirming email telling me to have our group at Loreto 6 at 2:15. As instructed we arrived to find a building with a bike rental sign in front (not a La Bicicleta Verde sign). When we rang what appeared to be the bell to a residential building there was no answer. We then walked over to the office address in the email. We were told by some nice people there that the bicycle folks had left for the day saying they had no more bookings. I showed them my confirming email and all they could do was shrug. the phone number we called went to voice mail each time we called. Not sure if they are still in business or not but beware when booking. I luckily hadn't paid in advance.

Did this tour with Stefano on the 13th Feb. Really good fun with plenty of variety visiting the markets, cultural sites and political landmarks. Stefano was a friendly and informative guide and the whole team were equally efficient. The day would have been perfect but for some pickpockets snatching my wife's phone from her bag just 50 yards from our hotel on the way back. Apparently this sort of thing is very very common in Santiago. Ironic as the bike team of Stefano and Jose protected our belongings carefully all day .

Ifyou just arrived in Santiago I highly recommend to do 2 halfday Tours with biciclettaverde, you immediately get a good idea of Santiago and it’s nice places! And that by bike, co2 neutral 🙂 The guides provide you with much info about not only historical things but also about the today’s issues! If I had more time I would go on more tours with them! Highly recommended!!

Alfonso was a fantastic tour guide showing us all the hotspots, markets Art District, government buildings and Parks. He explained what has been going on with the riots for the past few months in ways the news back home never would. The terrain was super easy and even a grandpa could pull it off. Highly recommended
