Overrated and badly organized tour, the place is nice, but the equipment used is not top quality, i think that even in some cases the tour is something dangerous, the guide is not sufficiently prepared.

im very sorry to read of what were your expecting from us ....considering that we have been running self sufficient trips in northern Patafogonia since at least 20 years what we are used to do before our participants pay is that we specify in detail conditions of our tour , in a "pre-tour meeting " were we answer all the questions that participants might have about (winds, tides, remoteness, a real trip "self sufficient" in "patagonia area " , our terms and conditions for cancellation, or modification) and specify , even it´s written in our website , all the equipment we use while paddling (kayaks brands and their models )and of course , also mention and explai our emergency plan we will definitly improve to offer every day a better and safer service

Sea Kayak Touring with Yak Expediciones will give you what you are looking for. The descriptions about what to expect are very accurate and it is very true that you must be ready for the unexpected. I was on a 6-day trip with Cesar as my guide and two young men from Santiago. I have experience guiding trips like this and I went with the expectation that I would be a participant on the trip instead of simply having everything done for me. We all participated in the trip and were safe at every step of the way. We had a storm that we knew was a possibility but the weather is so localized in this region we were not sure what it would actually turn out to be. The weather apps were predicting 2 to 2.5 days of wind and rain. We ended up with 4 days of very strong winds and rain. We spent nights 2 - 5 in Cahuelmo Fjord. While I prefer to be on the move and see as much as I can see, we made the best of our unexpected weather. Again, Cesar was very attentive to our safety and kept a very positive attitude the whole time. the gear provided was in great shape and kept us safe. I do recommend bringing your own dry suit if at all possible. There is a saying in Yak Expediciones when traveling in this part of the world: You have two options: wet and less wet. Having a dry suit keeps you warm and of course safe in the frigid Chilean southern ocean. There was also an incredible amount of fresh and delicious food, including collecting fresh mussels at low tide every day. From start to finish, Yak Expediciones, Cesar our guide and Juanfe, the owner, are all a fantastic choice when traveling in Southern Chile. I do hope to go back some day and see more...and more...and more. Steve Ladwig Trinidad, California

It was a great surprise to read your comments about your experience with YAK EXPEDICIONES although the weather was not from your side, but as I said, even in summer can rain at any moment, I do hope that you come back some day and see more of my paradise. Its just water and you wont melt. Juanfe (Juan Zuazo) - Puerto Varas

The lights are on, but is anyone at home??? I precisely followed the booking instructions for the day tour, (Lago Todos Los Santos), forwarding two emails five weeks and three weeks ago to their supplied address. Both appear as Sent Items in my email account. Both emails have been ignored and if this is now representative of the company then customers will act similarly; so what's going on?

What can I say?... I've spent 6 weeks traveling alone across Chile and this was definitely the highlight of the whole trip. To my person, I am 31 years old, have only minimal spanish knowlegde, have experiences in seakayak trips and of course like to spend time camping in the wilderness. So it seemed to be the perfect plan to do this trip. But in the end it exceeded my expectations. And this not only because of the stunning landscape and animals. But mainly because of the whole combination of wilderness, a perfect tour guide Juan who is experienced, knows the area by heart and is a reaaally warmhearted person who tries anything make this a perfect trip for you and of course the other locals who hosted us/me so openminded and cordially (even though my spanish was too bad to talk a lot besides the patient translations by Juan). The (pre)organisation was already really good and easy. Because I was traveling alone and it was already a bit off-season (april), I had the opportunity to do this trip as the only participant. Everything, concerning finding a date, gear, hostel in Puerto Varas, payment and what I should expect was so well organized and I never had doubts it could be a bad decision to do this trip. I could talk of course a lot about the trip itself, the waterfalls, hotsprings, the animals, the campsites, but as there are so many pictures on facebook for example - just take a look there. What you see is what you get! (at least a feeling of it - paddeling in those fjords is breathtaking). What you cannot see on the pictures is how warm you are welcomed by the locals and which makes this trip exceptional compared to trips that you do on your own just in the nature. Thanks a lot Juan for this wonderful opportunity you gave me. Next time I will stay at the car ;) Muchas gracias y saludos atentos!
