Just evaluating to warn future turists. I came in search of it and did find it (a little hidden, even). However, it was closed. So I asked around and was informed that it was a private collection, shown by the owner, who died last year...More

It's only open for 2 hours whenever the keeper feels like it, very bad really. There is a sign saying the time when it's open, don't trust it, they open at random hours.

A little difficult to locate. Was closed with no real information as to when it would be open. The hotel next door had no information on opening hours either.

Small and tucked away and worth a visit as the museum is very special and is full of special antiquities of the Mapuches.

The artefeacts were interesting in themselves, but the curator was a mine of information and briefly explained the Mapuche history and culture. A small museum, but good displays of this unusual people, who were not subjugated by the Incas or Spaniards.

Food and service were OK but only average compared to our other meals during 17 days in Chile. We had the hamburgers. We were looking for a quick meal.

It is a private collection, no doubt a great familiar effort, but neither the space nor the exhibition discourse are worth the name of Museum. You pay the ticket with pleasure to listen to the collector himself telling you nice stories of the Mapuches.

The mapuche museum was very interesting with lots of small items to see and the entrance fee was not expensive. You need to speak spanish to get most out of the museum since the quide there gives you a really excellent and detailed tour of...More

Maybe March is not high season in Pucon, but there are more than a few tourists there in order for the only museum to be open. Actually, it would be great if they have at least posted on the door that they do not work...More

Did YOU know the Mapuche fought off the Aztecs AND Incas and THEN fought the Spanish Conquistadors for 300 years!! The Mapuche still inhabited the Chilean Lakes District after Independence! We learned this (and more) from the friendly and informative man working at the museum....More
