As a family with kids ranging from 13 down to 8 we all loved this tour. We are well travelled & know our Asian delights but we got to try foods we hadn’t experienced before all while learning how Singapore was shaped into the amazing city it is. Hearing from a local guide about how another country lives & are governed was the best way for our kids and adults to learn.

The guide was excellent. Gave us several dishes to try in the "food court" which is also known as the Hawkers area of Chinatown. We tried several dishes & he was very aware of others food allergies or vegetarian choices. After have tried several dishes, he took us to the museum where we learned about the city of Singapore. He was very knowledgeable about the area, the city, its history & planning & future growth. We then went back to the Hawkers area for more tasty treats.

Reny was an excellent and friendly guide for both the bicycle tour of Singapore and the Chinatown food tour. The bike tour was safe and well paced, providing a great overview of the many areas and history of central Singapore, with lots of tips and recommendations on what to do and where to go for the rest of the trip. This was followed by a fun and very filling food tour with the opportunity to taste many Singaporean cuisines in a number of hawker centres and other local shops. A great way to spend a day in Singapore!

This was great. Rene the guide was in great form. Funny and very informative. It was a small group of six of us so you get to know your companions and as they are usually like-minded souls you learn a lot from them as well. It is much better than walking or catching the tour bus. You are out in the fresh air, getting a bit of exercise and getting to parts the others can't reach. You don't need to be an expert cyclist - the emphasis is on the sights not on the cycling. It was great fun as well as learning about the fabulous city of Singapore. I wouldn't do it any other way.

Rene knows his stuff and in a couple of hours I felt like I knew everything about Singapore. Not to mention the ridiculously delicious food that I would have never thought to order. The suggestions on how to spend the rest of the day after the tour ended were also much appreciated and led to a great evening even after the tour had finished! BEST

I’ve given this foodie tour 5 points because it WAS excellent and our guide Rene was committed, very knowledgeable, and very proud of Singapore. But I’ve been on a lot of foodie tours in other counties and would have liked things arranged a bit differently. Rene gave us only two food stops and at those stops we ate quite a lot. In between we spent a LOT of time at the Singapore Future Development (???) HQ where Rene took us through a history of Singapore ( not always accurate, I corrected him on some basic WW2 stuff re Kamikaze pilots) and on the future building programs.
All interesting stuff, but I came for the FOOD, not history. I wanted to spend my time eating.
Rene, I would have liked to see FOUR small food stops, each one with only 1-2 food examples, rather than two BIG stops. Other foodie tours I’ve been on usually have 4-5 short stops and this really works. AND, much less facts on Singapore’s building program. Hope you take these suggestions to heart.

My family and I have just returned from this tour and cannot rate it more highly. This is principally due to the tour guide/manager of Urban Adventures, Rene, who really was exemplary. The tour began in a food hawker market in Chinatown, where we sat down & Rene ordered a variety of authentic Chinese dishes for us to try. As a vegetarian I had pretty much resigned myself to 'taking one for the team' and starving during the tour, however Rene produced some vegetarian dishes as part of the mix, and surprisingly they were everyone's favourites! I'm not sure whether the inclusion of the vegetarian dishes was standard practice, but if not it was lovely to be accommodated, and it augers well for other vegetarians. We then journeyed around the Chinese 'wet market' and up through all of the pedestrian areas of Chinatown until we came to the Buddha tooth relic temple where we had a quick tour. Thereafter we visited the Singapore City gallery, which, enhanced by Rene's commentary, was the highlight of the tour for the whole family. The 'gallery' explains all about the urban planning of Singapore, using models & interactive displays. Sounds really boring but it was fantastic & my three teenagers loved it too! After that we went to another food market for more Chinese specialties. In all, a fantastic afternoon and one that I would unreservedly recommend. All of the other tours I have done have dragged somewhat, but this one definitely did not. Rene runs all of the tours so you can be assured that he will be your guide.

It was a pleasure hosting you and i endeavor to do whatever possible so that my guest would feel as comfortable as possible. Even though this may not be a vegetarian food tour, I really appreciate your understand to accommodate to the rest of the member and thus making this tour a complete success. Thanks again, rene

It was a really great and informative tour around Singapore. Rene was very friendly and was happy to answer all our questions.
We were only a small group of 5 which made the tour extra nice.

We combined the 4hr bike tour & 4hr food tour together in then day. This was an excellent way to see the city & learn about Singapore. The book ride is flat throughout & very easy for anyone to manage.
