This place has a rather large variety of both raw and cooked japanese food. The promotion with uob can be attractive, this month it is a 1-1 promotion of lobster salad roll. Some months are salmon sashimi

This is the biggest and busiest mall around the Jurong East MRT station.

There are lots of shops and people here. I found it to be crowded and chaotic. The NTUC supermarket and Robinson departmental store are the main tenant here.

Together with hubby and in-laws book a movie at JEM, Cathay Platinum. Movie Dead Pool booked for 6.50pm. Cost about $150++ for 4 adults (no issues with the ticket cost). The issue here is about the experience. After a tiring day at work we was looking forward to have a relaxing evening by catching a movie. Check in was prompt n notice only one male Malay staff at the counter. When ask for the food menu, we was given one piece of laminated paper instead of the usual booklet to order food which has a variety of food. The single piece of menu only has finger food n some drink n nothing else. Wh ask the staff why the menu as such, the reply given oh it's CNY period and only this is available. Oh okie fine. Was about to place the order when the staff told us we can order outside the cinema or inside the cinema. Reaching the cinema no staff to be found n we waited about 5 mins n decided to go inside since the movie was about to start. Inside the cinema once we settle down, we tired pressing the call button and it was not working !!!!! Shorty I saw a staff enter the cinema n looks like she took order. We waited thinking she might come to our side but no she left. After a good 15 mins when there was no way to order food via call button I left the cinema. Outside i bump into a staff and he was carrying food in plastic n say he need to go inside the cinema to distribute the food n I have to go down to the counter to order food. What !!!!! I told the staff when we was below we was told to go up n order and now I am being told to go down. Fine !!! I went down n told the staff I need to order food and the reply i got u need to order upstairs and not here. At this point i loose my patient n told the staff off that what are they trying to do by pushing me up and down and why so much of inconvenience ! And all this when the movie is already running. There was a long of people waiting to check in at the counter and they too saw how frustrated I was. Finally the staff say ok let me take your order and I placed the order. I wasted a good 20 mins to just order food while the movie was running. I paid for it and not watching it for free and missing 20 minutes of it ! Also from observation there was only 3 staff on duty n it shows they was struggling handling the operation. Besides this both toilets just outside the cinema stinks ! The blanket smelly ! Table inside cinema just in the centre of the 2 chairs dusty ! Did I enjoy the evening ??? Definitely no and it was waste of money which went down the drain for such experience !

JEM – Open since mid 2013 immediately after opening of nearby JCube shopping mall which has an ice skating rink but before Westgate mall which I have already covered previously.
Location – This place touches Jurong East MRT station as well as Jurong East temporary bus interchange. It remains open between 10 am till 10 pm on all days.
How to reach – 2 minute walk from Jurong East train or bus station & you are in JEM. Best way to reach is by public transport but plenty of car park is available at basement 2 & 3 if one is driving.
Nearby – JEM is touching two other shopping complexes, Westgate & Big Box. The later caters to mostly interior decoration stuff & is connected by a bridge.
Size – JEM houses nearly 250 outlets including various anchor tenants like Robinsons, Mark & Spencer, NTUC supermarket, Cathy Cineplex & various dining, shopping, home appliances & Kinokuniya book store & stationery shop.
Attractions – JEM has 7 floors but to go to level 7 one has to take a dedicated lift. What is little known about JEM is its level 5, 6, 7 garden & kids play area. You fill find the green area less crowded. You can take a look at the various attractions located there especially those which touch a bit of science. Level 5 houses children’s place area connected with a food court, Level 6 has a coffee shop & level 7 has no outlet but many students bring their own stuff to enjoy the place.

Went there and used the machine, shown in the picture. I clicked on the 4.10pm show but the reciept came out is for 7.15pm. Immediately i went to the counter and approached the staff, name:Liyannah. Told her about the issue and its obviously their machine problem which is not my 1st encounter already. Almost every week or month i will watch movie. I am very regular and i've seen the machines with alot of different issues. But this time i request if they can change the timing for me as i dont know why the machine fault become our fault. Its really unfair i am so unhappy the staff told me yes she know but to swop will have to pay additional charges otherwise she cannot help with anything. This type of customer service really sucks. Your own cathay machine problem become our problem and staff dont want to help and said we pay for the charge then they will help us. This is what they meant. Seriously. Worst worst worst.

this mall is more for locals as its quite far from the normal route of everyday tourists.

But it has a lot of the shops you would qet in a singapore.mall.

We happen to come across it when we went to the westgate mall which is next door.

Take.mrt to jurong east mrt station and both westgate mall.and jem.are linked to the mrt station

I like this mall as they have few good brands to shop and also a big supermarket to buy your groceries. The foodcourt is on the same level as the cinema. Good food stalls in the food court too.

There is a wide variety of shops at JEM, alot of food stalls and very children friendly. They also have a very nice rooftop to chill at night and have a talk with friends.
