A neat but challenging Golf course with 9 holes but different sets of tees and some double greens to create a 18 hole setting. conditions are nice with cowgrass and greens roll well. The course is short but tricky , don't underestimate the course and it will take several times to get used to the bounces and roll around the fairways and greens!

If not for my friend and his family visiting us from the UK, I would'nt have known there is this 9-hole course at Changi. Apparently this is one of about 16 golf clubs in Singapore. His dad was an ex-RAF officer, and 64 years old, the course was part of the old British airforce base. With a view of the sea and surrounded nearby by officers' chalet then, the club was idyllic yet elitist at that time. Anyone can now play at the Club. We paid about $S 70 per person. The club house with a chinese restaurant and jackpot room is on one side of the road. It was windy at times especially towards dusk with sea breeze, but daytime it was shimering hot. Because we are next to Changi Airport and the Singapore airforce base, your play might be interrupted by the jets' takeoff and landing. Golfers like this club for its small size, lack of queues, coziness, adjacent to seafood restaurants in Changi, and relatively nice pubs with beers and music. Overseas visitors can also explore Changi village. There is no subway connections to this course although there is a bus station about 500 metres away. Most taxi drivers know this club. Bring along your handicap card. There are reciprocal privileges with clubs in Malaysia and Indonesia. Watch out if you are auto-roaming your mobile phone. It jumps between the services of Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia. Note: Do not expect this to be a Singapore version of St. Andrew's. Just enjoy Changi for what it is.

having passed by this golf course many times we finally decided to give it a try and this was something of a find in way out Changi. A 9-hole course that repeats itself if you play 18 with the back 9 slightly shorter distance than the front(guess they know you'll be tired after the first 9). A challenge for those long hitters with many blind holes. But must say some long holes are possible to get on in 1. Great to be patient and be rewarded. Problem is you have to gauge the distance as the distance markers are not correctly positioned. No wonder I lost a few balls into the water. Beware as many holes hug the army camp and it's usually OB water left and army camp right. Greens are fast and most of them with the cup on a sloping surrounding. Bunkers are not an issue as they are shallow and soft. Good fun overall and one has to cross the road seated in the buggy to play the course. Office staff and starter were friendly and visitors are welcome. Just remember the golf course is across the road from the Clubhouse. Enjoy the slow pace and quiet of this golf course.

We went for coffee with a member after eating at the Changi Sailing Club. It was the evening and the golf course was lit as part of the overall backdrop which created a stunning stage. Very comfortable environment.
