This place is absolutely fantastic. We had the best experience. We made three dishes, the staff was so knowledgeable and guided us along the way. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to enjoy a meaningful cooking experience. What a marvelous way to spend a morning and learn about another culture's food.

This was a fabulous way to spend a morning during a stopover. Teresa was brilliant, I learned a lot and have been regularly recreating the dishes at home. It was a huge bonus to discover that this isn’t just a standard business but a social enterprise that supports women returning to the labour market and senior citizens like the sprightly Mrs Lee who made sure that everything we needed was ready and waiting, I can highly recommend Food Playground .

Celebrated my boyfriend's birthday here by learning to cook char kway teow, popiah and gula melaka sago dessert.
The trainers were wonderful and great interactions with other international participants.
It's a 3 hours session starting with an introduction of singapore food, followed by cooking and preparation of 3 items and ending with a communal dining session.
Highly recommended for locals, visitors and expats to experience local authentic cooking and culture.
Would definitely come back here to learn other dishes :)

We have visited Singapore many times and wanted to experience a cultural experience so chose food playground.
We were welcomed by Sharon and Mary and prepared and cooked nasi lemak and curry puffs.
The ladies were fabulous and showed us how to cook from their experience of learning these recipes passed down from their mothers and grandmothers.
What a wonderful concept of employing stay at home mums and sharing their cultural stories so they will not be forgotten.

Great way to learn about Singapore’s heritage food. Mary was informative and interesting explaining the way and how to make our delicious lunch. It was so fun much learning about the food culture of Singapore in an unique way. I was comfortable coming alone to class but great activity for couples, friends, solos, families ( especially teenagers)

Had a wonderful afternoon for my teambuilding session. All our members enjoyed the get-together time with the team and we definitely mastered the skill of how to bake Cupcakes and Basque Burnt Cheesecake. A big shoutout to our instructors, Helen, Cindy and YY for their patience and guidance. Also, thanks to Daniel for helping me to organise the event. Truly have fun.

Above and beyond for a cooking class - not only do you learn how to make tasty new dishes but the instructors share the cultural heritage and meaning of the traditional foods of Singapore and their own experiences of the evolution of Singapore and it’s cuisine over their lifetime.
We had a wonderful time learning to make Claypot rice, steamed egg and glutinous rice balls with Helen, our fantastic instructor. We really appreciated how much Helen shared in terms of tips and tricks to extend the recipes we were given and her recommendations on other dishes to try in Singapore.

I have just returned from my 4th Visit to Food Playground SIngapore and can thoroughly recommend you try.
Hands on Cultural cooking classes with the most lovely Culinary Instructors ( thank you Mary, Helen and Teresa) .
The origins of the recipes are fully explained , then you cook under instruction and enjoy your finished dishes for lunch. It's a lot of fun and I'm sure you will want to come back again, as I did. Food Playground has won many accolades in SIngapore and it's easy to see why. Well done Daniel!

This was a lot of fun and at the same time a great opportunity to learn about local history and cuisine and support mothers returning to work.
Class sizes are small. The classes are very well organized, the teacher Mary was friendly and a great communicator and did a great job of supporting us all. While doing this she also told us a bit about herself. At the end we met Daniel who manages the business.
After great team work with your partner, you get to eat your food that you’ve spent the morning preparing.

We did a Mother and son Valentines event with Food playground 2/14/2022 during our visit in Singapore. We have no regrets and will definitely be coming back for more cooking classes in future visits. Our instructor Helen Teo was amazingly friendly and knowledgeable. She made it easy for us to learn and follow along. We had so much fun learning to cook local dishes and desserts. We were able to enjoy the fruits of our labor at the end of the class. I highly recommend Food Playground as an activity in Singapore. Thank you Helen for a wonderful class.

Hi elizabethferreira59,
I also like to take the classes every day. Did you go to the market tour every day? Did they give you a discount for going every day?

I have an egg allergy. Is there a class I could do? It is OK if the others are using eggs.

Not sure, but as the people are very accommodating, I'm sure you'd be fine. In fact I was partnered with a vegetarian, and dishes were divided accordingly. Why not email Food playground direct?
