Lovely bridge and hike to the bridge but when we went the weather was terrible and we stayed just for a few minutes. Also there was a lot of construction going on so that spoiled the views and pictures from the most beautiful angles. It would be lovely to visit in better weather.

The best time to visit for me was early on a weekday morning. Lower relative temps at that time plus overcast made the trek to Henderson Wave nicer.

If you can take a grab car or taxi and get dropped off in the parking lot. From there it was a paved path up which was a much easier approach than the stairs near the bus stop.

The wave itself was a combination of wood and metal with views from both sides. The undulating wave design gave the bridge its distinctive look though it’s built like most bridges. To get a better photo and view of the bridge it was best viewed from the middle of the staircase leading down to Henderson Road.

It took me around 10 minutes to cross including stops to take photos as well as read the Discovery Walk signs that gave a quick history but also point out some of the more significant buildings from that vantage point.

From here, I continued my walk to Fraser Point at the top of Mount Fraser Park and the MarangTrail to the Harbourfront MRT station.

Henderson bridge lights up from 7pm to 7am.
Photos shown here taken at 6:30am.
The park is linked to several ridges. Collectively they are known as Singapore southern ridge.
A two to three hours morning hike is the most comfortable.
Good sneakers is a must.

Singapore, a mere speck of land in Southeast Asia with a population of only about 6 million people, is one of the most amazing countries on earth. There are many reasons that Singapore receives almost 20 million visitors a year and one of them is the architectural wonder known as the Henderson Wave.

The Henderson Wave is an undulating bridge completed in 2008 and is located in the aptly named green belt section in Southern Singapore. It is the highest pedestrian bridge in Singapore with a height of 118 feet and almost 900 feet in length. The bridge is made out of Balau, a very hard wood native to Southeast Asia. Walking across the bridge can be somewhat of a dizzying experience because of its wavy structure and twists plus the fact that there are spaces between the wooden slats that you walk on. There are resting spots along the bridge which also serve as great vantage points to take in the lush tropical scenery and stunning views that surround the bridge.

The bridge is easily reached, like most place in Singapore, by taxi or bus. We took a taxi to Mount Faber Park which is part of the Southern Ridges Walk. A hiking trail with good signage takes you to the bridge. The Southern Ridges actually contain three parks, the Mount Faber Park as well as the Kent Ridge Park and the Telok Blangah Hill Park. Walking the trails through all three parks can easily consume most of a day and lets you explore close up the various gardens and lush tropical vegetation

This is an easily arranged self-tour and when you are done exploring the parks, you can arrange for a taxi pickup at the Mount Faber station. Remember to bring the mosquito repellent and enough water to survive the tropical environment!

It’s a great place to pass time when you have a plenty. People come here to jog, run, walk and just enjoy the surroundings. The bridge is just one of many other nearby spots to visit. Convenient bus ride to and from the city. Nearby mall with lots of good food stalls. Be prepared to climb the stairs, though.
Best in the afternoon as the weather can get pretty sticky. They have neon light at night.

Wonderful Walk, Vast Views, Inexpensive Activity.
It was very hot mid day, but a peaceful nature walk right in the city.
Great views and a good workout after 11 days on a cruise ship.

A 10 minute walk from the Cable car and complex. It’s a scenic walk with a serene atmosphere. The walkway itself has wave features hence its name. With ample time there are many walk trails within the area.

Unbelievable to find nature trails in an urban landscape. Started our walk at VivoCity Harbourfront MRT station. Follow signs to exit D, Marang Trail, a moderate to challenging 15 minute hike up to Mt Faber. Views are fantastic up there. On the hinterland you can see the city skyline and public housing. On the coastal front, you can see Sentosa and the various islands. Enjoy the scenery! Walk further and you’ll come to The Jewel, a restaurant, as well as Mt Faber cable car station. An easy walk along the footpath. Be careful of traffic. You will then come to a fork (which is actually a loop). Taking the left fork is 700m to Henderson Waves, while the right is 300m.
We took the longer route. Reaching a Danish Seamen Church, we turned right round the loop. Within a few steps, we came to the big sign ‘Henderson Waves’. A beautiful man-made bridge structure. It was very cooling and slightly breezy.
Continuing the walk, you will come to Forest Walk, a metal trail that brings you into the forest canopy. You come very close to nature here, hearing the various birds and insects, plus seeing squirrels. We ended our walk here and returned via the same route after 2.5 hrs. The trail continues further if you wish to walk more.
Didn’t think that Singapore a city state still has trails that are so close to nature. A good afternoon spent with family.

Yes, as other reviewers have said, don't be fooled by the lovely photos, obviously taken when it was opened! It's nothing special and is in need of maintenance. The wood is stained and just.... old. Once on the bridge you have no idea of its form so it's simply a bridge. BUT........ it is part of a wonderful walk. I started at Hortpark and walked through the forest walk. No monkeys sadly and a downpour of rain but it's a beautiful way to see Singapore and have some idea of its layout. You pass through old military areas, black and white colonial houses and so much of Singapore's fabled verdure. I saw hardly another human being. Of course it was pouring but I suspect that this Southern Ridges walk is not yet well known. Do try it but beware..... at one point in the walk you have to descend onto a main road and continue the other side into Mnt Faber Park to get to the cable car. I thought I'd got lost and so settled for a great food court and market in a housing estate, Telok Blangha. Next time I'll be sure to complete the walk!

If you take the cable car to Sentosa, be sure to visit Mount Faber and the Southern Ridges. However, the space between Mt. Faber and the Southern Ridges is a deep valley with a road spanned by one of the most unusual bridges the Henderson Wave. The bridge is a great wood span that allow you to skip the valley and walk directly between two hills. However what makes this so spectacular is the shape provided by a shade structure that makes the bridge appear to undulate like a wave. It is a neat optical illusion. This was not originally on my list of things to do but once I saw on Tripadvisor I knew I had to visit. Again it is easily reached if you combine with a cable car visit to Mt. Faber and the cable cars can be reached by the subway. Be sure to see and cross this great pedestrian feature.
