Affectionately known among locals as the "durian", Esplanade is one of the busiest arts centres in the world with about 3,000 performances presented yearly. Spot our prickly cladding in the middle of the central arts and cultural district, and take in the view from the Marina bay waterfront where our Outdoor Theatre is situated. Coming to Esplanade means that you're in for a complete lifestyle experience, from enjoying a night out at a show, to shopping and dining. And whether you're a first-timer, an ardent patron or fellow arts lover, you're most welcome here and we'll do our best to give you a great experience with the arts.

Called a “cultural desert” too many times to count, Singapore does have some pretty amazing free or paid shows and Esplanade takes 80% of them. Highly recommend 2 annual art festivals, one is da:ns festival during Oct, and the other one is Chinese festival of arts (also called “华艺节”) during China Lunar new year which is from late Jan to... Check out online what is available but its so pleasant to head down by the water on the weekend with friends to enjoy music. There is a Hawker centre near by to grab dinner before hand.

If you're ever in Singapore and you get a chance to stop by the Esplanade for a concert (indoors), you will agree that the halls are mega and they're beautiful. Saw quite a number of shows at the Esplanade (free and paid). Sharing some photos of previous gigs attended there. Hope you get a chance to visit this Singaporean landmark... More

Watched the Les Miserables show with my mom, definitely worth the money! Tickets were S$230+ for the seats we bought, and we were rewarded with a perfect view of the stage.

I did architecture and interior tour of this building. (you can check their website to check the availability and timings & cost.) though little disappointed at first day, as I reached the venue on time as per my tour and they just cancelled it due unavailability of concert hall. But after that they arranged the next tour as per my... More

The inside is not the usual theater I've been in our country, I also find the Durian like architecture so cute!

Loves the variety of performances the place put up every year. And truly appreciate those regular free acts at the public areas. A great place for the artsy fartsy, family outings, friends gathering or just to spend some "me-time" with yourself.

Staying in Marina Bay

Neighborhood Profile
Marina Bay
More of a mini city than a neighborhood in the traditional sense, the iconic Marina Bay aims to dazzle and entertain visitors of all kinds. This is the Singapore found in glossy brochures, featuring a world-class hotel, casino, shops, restaurants, bars, and other attractions all geared towards pure entertainment. The SkyPark at Marina Bay Sands provides a stunning view of the city, a must-see photo opportunity for visitors and locals alike. The ArtScience Museum always has a top-quality exhibition, and Gardens by the Bay is a fascinating manifestation of the government’s vision of Singapore as a “city in a garden”. Enticing Marina Bay is well worth a visit.
