- SevaPerth, Australia7 contributionsExcellent service, location and sustainability. This Hotel offers everything you need for business and pleasure. Relaxed yet smart, its location is central and perfect for public transport. I wrote a review prior to leaving but wanted to reinforce the excellent service and personalized assistance. One thing I appreciate is high-quality linen and a fresh feel to the room. Their sustainable program is definitely forward thinking and appreciated by those of us that want to make both small and big steps.Visited January 2024Traveled on businessWritten January 27, 2024
- kingyd2017Haworth, United Kingdom451 contributionsDefinite Wow FactorIt’s the busiest of place that’s still a pleasure to go to. It’s unparalleled in its attractions and a shoppers paradise; but bring the credit card it’s an expensive place to visit. A plethora of designer shops are waiting to extract the holiday spending money from your wallet so beware. There’s some fine eating and drinking places as you walk the length of Orchard, some of my favourites are The Drunk Poet, Hard Rock Cafe and Muddy Murphy’s. Enjoy the stroll.Visited February 2024Traveled on businessWritten February 12, 2024

Some of the higher ends shops are here like Channel and Gucci but also shops like Nike and Adidas. - Tommaso D1 contributionAn indelible memory SingaporeOn the occasion of my son's INSEAD graduation in December 2018 I went with my wife to Singapore and we were fascinated by this truly unique city. Every corner is more beautiful than the other and of course we took lots of photos: Marina Bay, the botanical garden, the Ferris wheel, etc. etc. spending an afternoon evening in the central and beautiful Orchad Road. I recommend everyone to visit Singapore.Visited May 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten March 7, 2024

The top malls are Ion, paragon and ngee ann city. Many others are just trying to play catch up. Countless restaurants and cafes to rest while shoppingVisited May 2024Traveled soloWritten May 3, 2024
- KHilleryMeadowbrook, Australia444 contributionsHigh end Shopping StripA very crowded high end shopping strip. Seemed to have a lot of people window shopping, but not too many of them carrying shopping bags. It's worth a look even if you can't afford the prices. Some decently priced restaurants along the strip, however, with great food. You go, just to say you've seen. We personally wouldn't go back.Visited May 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten May 26, 2024

- irenevffDasmarinas City, Philippines6,011 contributionsoh my orchard!been here several times at daytime whenever i get to visit singapore during business trips. this time around, orchard road wowed me with its lavish display of colors and Christmas decors. the malls along this road had spent quite a budget to illuminate their facade. i would say it's very impressive. just by walking, one gets to enjoy the sights and sound of the city. never come here penniless. part of being in this lion city is to spend for bargain finds especially during sale season.Visited November 2024Traveled with friendsWritten November 23, 2024
- SunriseSydney, Australia67 contributionsSensational luxury shoppingIt’s sensational if you want to co some serious luxury shopping! And the customer service at the stores was excellent. If you are a serious shopper you could spend hours here. However if that is not your jam you could check it out and leave within 30 minutes. There are some great little coffee and tea shops though!Visited January 2025Traveled with familyWritten January 1, 2025

Orchard Road is generally known as a mecca for shopaholics, and you can easily see why when you walk down the always busy road and into malls such as the Paragon mall or Tanglin mall. All the major and high end brands are represented, and you find just about everything. This said, you find just about everything in other major shopping streets or areas in other cities, such as Causeway Bay in Hong Kong or Ginza in Tokyo. I did not really discover any good deals; on the contrary, many shops were quite expensive if compared to what you'd pay for the same items in Bangkok or Hong Kong. One nice shop to visit is the Liuli Gongfang shop in the Paragon mall; it sells artsy glassware and glass sculptures from the Liuli workshop in Taiwan.

There are so many shopping options. My greatest disappointment was not getting to spend a day here but only an hour. The Paragon building had a range of international name brand stores mixed other local ones. I scored a beautiful Italian Brand dress that retailed originally for more than a $1000 and was on sale for $200! I can’t wait to wear it as it is beautiful. I wish I had more time to shop at that store, Pois Boutique.

When I lived here years ago I loved nothing better than walking from one end of Orchard Road to the next. Now this is not possible as a lot of the walkways are underground and crash barriers have been put up along the road (which makes life safer but also stops you walking along). As this is the main road in Singapore it has all the biggest malls (there are so many giant malls all over Singapore ). Most of the shops are designer but still a couple of old malls left like Lucky Plaza and Far East Plaza where you can get cheaper items (unbranded). If you love shopping this is definately the place for you as everything on one road. If you can go shopping during the week do it before lunch time as things get more hectic from `12 onwards. On a Sunday the centre of town becomes much busier as all the maids and builder have a day off so they all congregate outside lucky plaza and catch up with their friends who are working in Singapor
e (got to admit I love this as they all look so happy).

Orchard Road is a paradise for shopping and eating.
Almost all international brands are represented sometimes in multiple locations in Orchard.
Goods especially branded stuff in Singapore are generally cheaper than its neighboring countries. Furthermore, tourists can get a tax refund of 7% (actually 5% after deducting admin fee).
The shopping experience is one of vibrancy & colorful. It’s hassle free and scams are rare.
Worth a mention is the local food available in the food courts. Especially those in Takashimaya and Opera are really diversified and mouth watering good.
If shopping till you drop is your thing, Orchard Road must be on your map.

Here during the virus so I would sometimes take my "hour" of exercise in the form of a "powerwalk Orchard." When I was here in February, it was all about the shopping but this time, I saw all the amazing landmarks and realized the magic of the "old and new" coming together to make up this amazing city. Things to see...the Tang/Marriott (wow, history there), the Wheelock, the apple store, Robinson's department store, the Thai Embassy, and more! One day walking by hotel, a gentleman rushed out and gave me a bottle of water, just because I probably looked like I needed it. The people, the history, the lush tropical plants and blue skies, all merge to make Singapore, a must visit when you come to Southeast Asia! p.s. Did I say it was super clean and you can drink the water?

Bring the big bucks when you go to Orchard Road!! It mall after mall of high-end stores, there must be 3 Louis Vuitton stores within a block. During the holidays, it's light up at night and very active/festive. There is a competition in the city to see who has the best street lights.

We stayed in Orchard Road and it was just a mass of amazing shops and shopping malls. The malls were spectacular but many of the shops were at the top of the top end of the market and goods were quite expensive. However, if you just like looking and not necessarily buying, you could spend a whole day or more just wandering around.

The best place to shop for both the locals and the tourist. It is a long stretch of road lined with various shopping malls located just right next to each other so you can hop from malls to malls conveniently. There are lots of shopping options here , from upscale luxury brands to the more affordable local fashion. Highly recommend to visit Orchard road during December as the whole area will be decorated and lighted up for the festive season.

Paragon, Tangs, Takashimaya, a huge Apple store and lots of hotels. You will surely enjoy a good family time here. My favorite mall to go to is Takashimaya, it has toy stores, a kinokuniya book store and lots of cheap to mid range eateries. The basement is packed with souvenir shops from Godiva to Bak kwa and bakeries shops. There is a Sephora so ladies, orchard road is the place to shop till you drop!

Probably the #1 road that leads to high end retail shopping malls and eateries. An interesting area to view eyepopping window displays Malls and storefronts have contemporary art work. You don't have to shop till you drop. Many cafes and dessert places to grab a drink and rest awhile. No time limit to browse or shop, just take in the street scene.

We will be staying on orchard road for 3 nights and would like to buy drinks and snacks for the room are there any supermarket/food shops on orchard road.
Written September 30, 2020
Yes, as you can see from others, there are all sorts of places and for snacks, all the 7-11s are great. If you get down near the Rendevzous Hotel, just off of Orchard about a block is a grocery store, drug store, McDonalds. If your back is to the Rendezvous and you look up towards Orchard, they are to your right about a block. "Cold Storage" is the name of another grocery store on Orchard Road. Use your google maps and find the one closest to you. I miss Singapore so much. I was there 127 days. Hope you have a great trip!

A trip to Sentosa is a must, with plenty to do. We went on a night Safari to zoo but it was not worth it, the animals were asleep. Go to the Botanical Gardens, they are free, except for the Orchid Garden which was 1 singapore $ for us OAPs. Try the river boat trip from Clarke Quay to Marina Bay, cost us 36 S$ for 2. From there walk to Gardens by the Bay.
